mining dead space - hauling?

with the freighter changes - can those ships serve as hauler for dead space or are they blocked from entering?

If so, what do you guys do to mine dead space. Without a hauler I don't see how it's practical - rocks are usual a drive away from where you land.

Thanks in advance to any info.

If you mean mining the rocks in mission areas.. I haven't done that in a long while... but what I used to do was mine to a can, BM it, hand in mission then warp directly to can. When you hand back the mission the gates are gone, same concept really as salvaging missions.

If the deadspace mission is a single pocket with no gates then there is no problem.
If the deadspace mission has multiple pockets with gates it will depend on the gate's ship restrictions.
If you are talking about grav sites they are normally single pocket with no gates so that's good.

Well I was doing a level 4 mission and it had a ton of veld in it except it was behind 2 or 3 gates and 100k from the entrance. It seemd to me there's no way to mine that (without spending hours upon hours) without having a hauler setup.

so I was wondering what people did.

Grav sites sound like a good alternative, but I was hoping to maximize my profit per mission.

An orca will serve you well if you mine then haul with an alt, but a couple of retrievers set up to mine with drones will work well.

On the other hand, if you only want veldspar, just go mine a belt, there ia always plenty of it around as Omber is the only ore which is worth less....

I think OP asks:

Can freighters pick up ore from jet cans in space?

I am curious too

This post sums up why the 'best' work with DCM inc.

WARP DRIVE makes eve boring

really - add warping align time 300% on gun aggression and eve becomes great again

If you leave someone in the pocket with all the veld, then hand in the mission, you can warp directly to them. As long as there is always someone at the site it doesn't despawn.
