Had a friend take a personality test and was curious what kind of personalities EVE Online attracts. There are sixteen MBTI types which are sometimes used to help people decide which careers and college majors might suit their preferences. Perhaps it could help players decide their roles in corps. Post your type after taking the test here: www.ipersonic.com. or here: http://16typequiz.com/quiz.html

The Good-natured Realist

Good-natured Realists like you are warm-hearted, helpful personalities. You do your work conscientiously and you have a pronounced organising talent. You are committed to traditional values. The family in particular is extremely important to Good-natured Realists. Your greatest pleasure is making yourself useful and taking care of other people. But you do not like pushing yourself to the fore; you prefer to fulfil your tasks out of the limelight. Good-natured Realists are real workaholics; you are very reliable and nothing is too much for you when it is a question of completing a project. Thoroughness, conscientiousness and sense of duty are your strongest points. You prefer established and familiar situations to new and unknown situations.

The Independent Thinker
Independent Thinkers like you are analytical and witty persons. You are self-confident and do not let yourself get worked up by conflicts and criticism. You are very much aware of your own strengths and have no doubts about your abilities. People of your personality type are often very successful in their career as they have both competence and purposefulness. Independent Thinkers are excellent strategists; logic, systematics and theoretical considerations are your world. You are eager for knowledge and always endeavour to expand and perfect your knowledge in any area which is interesting for you. Abstract thinking comes naturally to you; scientists and computer specialists are often of this type.

The Individualistic Doer

Individualistic Doers like you are self-assured and very independent people. You are a quiet and realistic, very rational, extremely matter of fact person. You strongly cultivate your individualism and enjoy applying your abilities to new tasks. But you are also a very spontaneous and impulsive person. Individualistic Doers are good and precise observers who register everything which goes on around them. However, you are not so sensitive as regards interpersonal relations and are surprised when you occasionally rub someone up the wrong way with your direct and blunt manner. You are not particularly fond of obligations; but if you are given space, you are an uncomplicated, sociable and cheerful individual.

The Reliable Realist
Reliable Realists are down-to-earth and responsible-minded. You are precise, reserved and demanding. Your most prominent quality is reliability and you will always make every effort to keep any promise given. Reliable Realists are more quiet and serious persons, they do not talk a lot but they are good listeners. You sometimes seem reserved and distant to outsiders although you have a great deal of wit and esprit. Your strong points are thoroughness, a marked sense of justice, doggedness and a pragmatic, vigorous and purposeful manner. You do not dither about if something has to be done. You do what is necessary without wasting words.

Yup. That pretty much sums me up.

The Harmony-seeking Idealist
"Harmony-seeking Idealists like you are characterised by a complex personality and an abundance of thoughts and feelings. You are a warm-hearted person by nature. You are sympathetic and understanding. Harmony-seeking Idealists expect a lot of themselves and of others. You have a strong understanding of human nature and you are a good judge of character. But you are mostly reserved and confide your thoughts and feelings to very few people you trust. You are deeply hurt by rejection or criticism. Harmony-seeking Idealists find conflict situations unpleasant and prefer harmonious relationships. However, if reaching a certain target is very important to you you can assert yourself with a doggedness bordering on obstinacy."

These personality type things would make more sense to me if they applied to gaming personalities.

Holy Trinity

DPS
Support - Healer, buff, ecm and tackle types
Tank

If you picked the third, you really don't belong in EVE.

I have some close friends that are "Reliable Realist". (INTJ). I bet you are one of the hardest working in your corp.

Keep it up guys. The EVE population is a diverse player base.

They could. INFP or "Idealistic Idealist" is what Keirsey calls a "healer". Sounds like it could relate to MMOs.

For added lulz, run the test more than once, and respond differently to some of the questions at which you went "meh, could go either way", then post the different results you obtained.

In order of "what sort of fits most" (since I can find about half-and-half in each step) and frequency of results obtained until I got bored I got:
- The Reliable Realist
- The Harmony-seeking Idealist
- The Sensitive Doer

Simplified boolean answer test results are highly unreliable.
And when people ask to "order stuff from them" based on that... my "fishy" detectors light up like mad.

I got Gay Pirate...is that a common one?

Seriously though, I'm going to create a system where I ask you to choose between positive comments about yourself, and then combine them all together and repeat them back to you.

Really insightful.

The Analytical Thinker

Analytical Thinkers like you are reserved, quiet persons. You like to get to the bottom of things - curiosity is one of your strongest motives. You want to know what holds the world together deep down inside. You do not really need much more to be happy because you are a modest person. Many mathematicians, philosophers and scientists belong to your type. Analytical Thinkers loathe contradictions and illogicalness; with your sharp intellect, you quickly and comprehensively grasp patterns, principles and structures. You are particularly interested in the fundamental nature of things and theoretical findings; for you, it is not necessarily a question of translating these into practical acts or in sharing your considerations with others. Analytical Thinkers like to work alone; your ability to concentrate is more marked than that of all other personality types. You are open for and interested in new information.

As an Analytical Thinker you are one of the introverted personality types. You are not particularly suited for dealing with others, working as a part of a team and be in the position of “continuous exchange“, you would much rather work alone, and dwell on your thoughts undisturbed.

Play EvE how you want to play it and do not let others dictate how you play. Evolve your playstyle to protect yourself from others! Even in "PVE", "PVP" is there, lurking in the shadows.

Illogicalness?

The first two sets of selections I had to choose from definitely were difficult to choose between, so I'm inclined to be suspicious of the final result. However, the resulting profile seems close enough. The same could be said of Horoscopes at times though, too.

There are more in depth test to take for you TJs out there. I just used this one because it is easier for folks to dive right in. http://16typequiz.com/quiz.html perhaps this is more your flavor? I'm sure you can put the letter combination that comes from this site into the previous one to get your title.

Same principle applies to both, plus any "cold reading"-related activity.
Throw enough generic pleasantries in, and people tend to focus on those that are "close enough" and ignore the "not really" ones.
Read any of the detailed descriptions WITHOUT reading the title. You will find that whichever one you read will resonate to some degree with you.

MBTI is around 75% accurate although folks will have differing degrees of these preferences. Few are 100% either way.
