Racial sensor types

I never payed much attention to what race used what sensor types until I started training these new Sensor Compensation skills, and then I noticed something last night that I consider kind of strange.

Gellente and Caldari ships use magnetrometric and gravimetric sensors, respectively, which makes sense for two technologically advanced societies (in EVE terms; by our terms it's all magic). Amarr use radar sensors, which any society that has discovered and developed radio can use, and can refine quite easily. Minmatar use ladar sensors, which are fairly sophisticated by our own standards and probably require some fairly hefty computing power, at least compared to what radar would require.

So why do Amarr use radar and Minmatar use ladar? You'd think that Amarr would use ladar sensors, given their whole "light of God" shtick and the fact that their racial weapons are lasers, and Minmatar would use radar considering how generally unsophisticated and simple their ships are.

CCP has no sense of humour.

Based on research on Earth LADAR seems pretty terrible.

Things are only impossible until they are not.

Amarr are not really that sophisticated when it comes to space travel. They kind of brute forced their expansion by sheer numbers.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

If you think about it that way, their racial weapons are the perfect ECM against Minmatar ships.

Quite possible.
Also Minmatar are advanced in optics and laser tracking with solar, so target painters and ladar. But low capacitor tech in nuclear power and solar, so more basic weaponry.
The reverse for amarr with high capacity antimatter reactors but limited sensors to work with abundant power spewing weapon systems.
