I really like many of the EVE's tracks. And with RealX aboard it's seems that music in this game will be even better. As i can see in the new login screen music - i think it's his job Smile Awesome, although it's very short, but it's ok.

I've recently downloaded the music from eve-online and listened to the ones i've loved a while ago. And it's was not very good in my (semi)pro audio equipment, as it was a year ago when i have a common speakers connected to the PC...

So... I thing it's a big waste to have this music only in mp3/ogg. There should be some losseless format. FLAC, or even WAV, or some other "heavy" sound format.

You can even make some proffit for that - sell the losseless EVE's music through EVE shop and eBay. Both in the hard and download versions. I'm sure it's will be a good buy for those who buy other stuff from your shop.

Later on, it's can be integrated into the game client. In the sound menu you can add an option to turn on the high quality sound and music, which will require the additional download (because it's quite heavy to put in the installer for everyone).

in 2007 i've thought it's a sci-fi simulator, not an "e-sports" game. I'm not a teenager, how would i like it much?

I'm a huge fan of FLAC, and one of the first things I asked about when I started playing EVE last year was if the Jukebox supported that particular format. I think it would be great if a lot of the dated tracks in EVE were remastered and resampled to sound more modern. It would be great if every track was released in some lossless format as well. Smile

The Jukebox was recently removed. I never really used it due to its limited format support. Instead I just have foobar2000 running in the background. Considering that solutions for the removal of the Jukebox are so simple, I don't think it's absolutely necessary to integrate a lossless release into the client. However, just about every game has both a low-quality and high-quality soundscape to choose from. So, if any sort of coding effort is applied to the sound design of EVE, it may be a good idea to incorporate something of that nature for not just music, but sound effects as well.

I think they have an original (loseless) version for most of the game sounds. So i think it's just a matter of decision to do so...
