I love how people think that their ships are still in space being attacked by rats. A true sense of reality in one's mind surpasses the virtual world aspect. When the servers crash, so do your hostile rats, beams, missiles and the entire virtual universe too. There is nothing there to kill their ship, but yet the mind still believes in the persistance of the realm.

Someone write a paper.

Not worried about the ship, just pissed off about losing my drones...

I cant believe the amount of ridiculousness in this thread. Looks like everyone is a network engineer with 10 years designing and managing sever farms. Buncha damn experts up in hur. Roll

My apologies for not being more clear on this side. A "node death" occurs when part of our server infrastructure fails to work properly; this means that requests from Tranquility can't be handled as expected which could result in all sort of problems.

While gladly such failures are very rare, unfortunately they usually cannot be resolved in a graceful way. In this case we had to reboot the server to fix the problem.

Will we be holding a viking funeral for the node or did that happen already?

Hope you sort it out quick :D

Basically it's indicative of a bad memory module. Could be any number of things though, hope it's something that a reboot can fix otherwise they'll have to take down the server and do some hardware reps on it.

Probably but if it's a memory module they can leave out this single node until next downtime - mind they are on a cluster, normally it's not a problem to cut it out and reboot to normal work, while rep the dead thing. As for losses, reroll to the point of time systems indicated first the death of the node. should be possible, shouldn't it?

It's amazing how a SuperNoda can take out the entire Universe.
