Question - Snowballs versus Ship explosions

I don't know if anyone has looked or payed attention but have you actually looked at the snowball explosions ?

Well they look Incredible.
I don't know if the snowballs are something new graphics wise but they really do put the ship explosions to shame.

What is really nice if if you blow up a ship while throwing snowballs at it.
The combination of the 2 effects with less white and more color would be well.....

So CCP where the snowballs a new trick (for lack of a better term) or are they too CPU intensive to bring those types of particle effects into the game on a permanent basis ?

My snowballs are awesome especially when they explode and leave your ship all wet and sticky.

Someone let loose all 7 launchers form a corax on me and I dropped to 5 FPS when I zoomed in D: (from 60)
