I know this is not exactly verifiable in any way and will run a fairly big risk of being overrun by silly comments but I think it’s a discussion to have besides the pro/cons.

Besides the "wow" of the market jumping a bit in Jita how are people reacting to the war on ice?

Is it business as usual? Costs not yet an issue for margins? Are you beginning to chip away at reserves? Have you dumped reserves for instant returns? Have you been ganked? Have you survived? Did you gank someone in a particularly creative way? Have you ventured to low sec for a raid on unsuspecting ice for massive profit?

It seems like an active campaign but there aren’t many stories from the front line or home front.

Be nice to hear from people realistic thoughts on where this will end, where prices for various items will end up and how you will change your play style.

I think alot of people arnt talking if they're making moves to continue ice mining while this war is on.

It would be the equivilant of holding up a big fluro pink neon sign saying "WE'RE HERE, YOU CAN JUST SLIDE RIGHT IN!!!"

I remember way back when EVE actually had wars.

There was a time when Trit was so in demand due to ship replacement needs and a few other factors that the belts were empty of Veldspar and Chribba prolly added many more billions to his coffers selling off his stockpiles. Then the NAPs started and the price came back down again.

Same will happen with this. Armchair speculators will buy high and try to sell higher, losing a bundle when the goons find something else to do and the price comes back down.

Just the ebb and flow of the EVE market.

Nothing to see here folks. Move along.

5 in 24 hours? You weren't really trying then.

Or was it a lack of suicide ships? A lack of targets definitely not, almost every ice belt has more than 5 hulks around.

Pppfftt yeah the whole alliance vs a 3 man corp where 2 of the 3 people are pure industrialist that would be very heroic for the goons

You must be mining one of the many other kinds of ice available in high-sec that are not currently being blockaded. Go you!

I find this war on ice highly entertaining ( even sent a thankyou mail to Mittens for it ;) )

And also high profitable, as prices for suicide ships, and also for suicided ships go up, along with their modules needed.

And ofcourse when I've got nothing to do between manufacturing/invention jobs, I can always mine some very profitable ice.

WAR IS GOOD FOR PROFIT!

Goons please keep up the good work. If you guys need more ships, just give me a call.

Does railgun ammunition come in Hollow Point?

It could possibly be an attempt as well for Mittens to gain publicity for the next CSM elections. I don't think there too far off now, so by doing this and creating some fun for the goons and a few others who hate industrials, he may gain more popularity from them.

Just a theory

If I'm not mistaken, the ice currently being constricted is for Gallente stations, and it is my understanding that the common zen savvy is to switch to non-Gallente towers to avoid an artificially constricted bottleneck.

I've noticed many other things I will not enumerate here because they are trade secrets.

I've always found these situations to be interesting. Pilots usually fall into two categories: the first are those who try to get the perpetrator to stop, decrying the immorality of their deeds or what not, the other group thinks on how best to capitalize on the new reality. The third just jump into the fun for the lulz. And the fourth, with no interest or ability to affect or be effected by the new situation, just watch with passive interest.

As always its never a dull moment in New Eden.

Yeah, brah, just switch over those towers. No problem. Snap your fingers and they'll be switched. Just like that.

We are actually having trouble meeting our weekly quota because of all these angry high-seccers flying out here and disrupting our daily Spec Ops ore fleets. Who would have thought those high-sec guys had it in them to actually present a nuisance?

You make it sound so easy. But it isn't really though. It takes time and money. I would think someone in Goonswarm would understand that.
