Redoing Moon Mining without Ring Mining

I believe the concept of having a huge ring of rocks that you have to skim through with a massive grid and new ships is a cool idea. However, it would takes years to put into the game and is not really a realistic option. Instead I would present this idea.

All moon mining modules would become obsolete and could be sold back to NPC seeded market orders. When warping to a moon at 0 you would see about 80+ asteroids all with the extact same name (Moon Rock) scattered around the warpin on the same horizontal axis in a circle around the beacon roughly 30km-50km off of the center.

All Moon Rocks would appear the same in both appearance and the overview to the player however they will have different internal item IDs because they will refine into different moon materals. Players would be able to use any type of mining ship to mine the Moon Rocks and use existing boosting ships and the survey scanner modules to identify the type of Moon Rock they want to mine based on what type of Moon Material they are after.

This idea uses already existing ships, modules, and skills to acquire Moon Materials on a pilot level instead of the corporate level that was discussed at Fan Fest. I do not have a ratio of M3->Moon Material conversion worked out. I am putting this idea forward to save development time and money on creating new ships/modules/server hardware.

Do moon mining like planetary interaction. A corporation drops a POCO and collects taxes and defends it, and individual players do the mining, hauling, and selling.
