I agree with the general theme of this posting thread. Building planetary civilizations/economies and integrating it with EVE would be a great future for EVE. The possibilities are endless, including the building of a whole new class of alliance.

#1) Provisioning of the planet - Resource trading and commerce and industrial development.

#2) Planetary warfare. Bombardment from space. Planetary and aerial battle with domestic enemies for control of planet resources

#3) Interplanetary warfare. Now have the true basis for EVE, the real reason why you are in a combat ship. Control solar systems for resources.

#4) Galactic competition.

You're one person. You're not colonizing a damned thing. Not enough people like you well enough to pack up their lives and move somewhere you tell them to.
