(apologies for my writing style, or lack therof)

Being a tournament junkie there is no way that I was going to stay out of this tournament. When it was announced it was pretty obvious that there was no upside to the tournament but I felt it was going in the right direction.

The plan that I told everyone was that we would practice two days on the weekend before the tournament started and spend as little time as possible on this tournament and see how far we could get.

I put out the word and tried to round up 10 people to make a team from the TEST Alliance Tournament crowd. Interest was low so I put out a ping to the CFC. We finally got our 10th person only a day before signups. I asked sevyn nine of Razor if he was interested in being a pilot after I saw him post mention having to sit out. He agreed eventually, as I knew he would, and I am glad he did as he helped us out quite a bit. We had a good core pilots with SP, experience, and/or enthusiasm.

Thank you CCP for returning PLEX. Thank you Somer for the donation. Thank you Own3d.tv for putting up the cash prize.

Well our first match was against The Exiled Gaming who are new to the tournament scene. Next time may I suggest Vindcator / Kronos x 2 / Oneiros / Frigate. The lack of a logistics ship really hurt their chances in both their matches. Having a little staying power would have made it a super dangerous team to approach and we would have had a tough fight on our hands. Without logistics the fight was one-sided.

Second match was against XXXMity who brought a sig-tanking team against our Vargur x 2 / Cyclone team. We had hoped they would bring Tengus like last tournament but they surprised us. After watching the match video I think we might have been able to win that match but we were caught totally unprepared.

Next match was against HBC bros Raiden 58th. They brought a Bhaalgorn team and we narrowly squeaked out a victory.

We then came up against HUN and we were faced with the prospect of a mirror matchup with Kronoses. We dumped our Brutix for 3 Kitsunes and 12 Gallente jammers. The gamble paid off and we were able to split reps enough to take down a Kronos, then a Taranis. Then we had enough jammers to start jamming the logistics and work through the rest of the ships.

The Last Huzzah gave us some problems. Our logistics and squishy frigates stayed near the brawl after completely owning for the first part of the match.

All things considered it was a lot of fun. How little we practiced and how well we did is really a testament to the quality of our pilots. So you will probably see us around next tournament, maybe with a different team name, who knows.
