Very informative, indeed.
I'm new to EVE (5mil SP) and found my place in the Ninja business (my regards to Solomar) but I want to expand my fun rides in the near future. What ship would you recommend for the following task:

Ransoming lvl4 MR's in hi-sec.
I'm already quite experienced in scanning down MR's in level 4 missions - never lost a ship during my ninja fun rides and made around 250 mil ISK so far. Now there are occasions when all those NI Ravens actually shoot at me ... oooooh, and how I would love to switch to a Cruiser or BC to hold 'em and squeeze 'em. I already have a Drake but I still lack the skills to deal dmg.

Should I train on with my Drake or would I benefit in using a Raven or even a Scorp? (Caldari ships pls ^^)
The plan would really be just to jump in, landing right next to them, point, dmg, ransom if possible and get out quick.

Here's to you, here's to me, friends forever we will be ... and if we ever disagree, f*** you, and here's to me. Cheers!

Fly a Hawk. Surprise them with your ridonculous tank and slowly wittle them down

I'll take 2 carebears to go, with extra tears

Sorry, but the idea was to "get out quick" again.
Wouldn't the slow down-wittling give my customer too much time to aquire reinforcements? THAT could lead to an unsatisfying outcome. ^^

Ridonculously tank reinforcements while slowly wittling down said target. Until cap boosters run out, theeeen your dead Pirate. Honestly, if you want to stay Caldari, use a HAM Caracal while you skill for your Drake more.

A Drake is probably one ship you don't want to train for if you want to get out "quick." The only relative fitting for a Drake now is a nano HAM Drake and requires T2 launchers to even be slightly effective. Honestly with it's slow locking time and mediocre DPS I wouldn't train for a Drake.

Instead (even with 5mil SP) train for a Thorax. It's very easy to fit, and even T2 blasters do not take that long to train for and T1 named are on par for the most part. CCP has buffed cruisers considerably and the Thorax is a great little ship to fly. Even taking on bigger ships you can get under their guns or aka speed tank slower tracking weapons.

If you are going after Carebears they simply won't know how to respond. Simply pop their drones first while pulsing your MWD. Remember you want to keep up an orbit around the target at around 1-3km (again blaster fit) while you whittle down the target.

You are doing upwards of nearly 600 DPS in a cruiser no less. Speed is your friend. And since you are about to do 2891 M/S overloaded (2028 regular) it is very very quick. This idea is to get in and gtfo as quickly as possible.

An AB shield Thorax could work as well. Take less damage from missiles by having a higher velocity than normal w/o a bloated sig (maybe a little from the shields). Essentially you have 2 tanks as long as you fit a DC. Your shields, and then tha rediculously hardy Gallente structure. I am thinking of changing my training from Minmatar to Gallente just for the Thorax.

Won't my increased sig blow my speed tank?
(concerning hi-sec careberry harvest this should still be an adequate question for this thread, I hope ^^)

You need to pick your targets carefully. Killing pve fitted ships should not be too difficult. Sig radius is something to consider however if you are for example orbiting under a Megathrons optimal (which is around 4500 km) doing 2000 MS those guns won't track you for jack.

We are also speaking about pulsing which means going green on a module then red as soon as it's activated. Do not wait for the module to cycle. You still get the effect as if the mod was on. Simply keep an eye on when your speed drops. Also my apologies to everyone for the lack of an update. Work has been very hectic with the holidays and I had an unexpected tragedy occur with a close friend of mine.

As soon as I have time I will begin working on more of an update with (hopefully) more detailed screenshots and such of combat related topics.

Nice Guide,

Ive checked your Talos fit Tara and i was like O_o

Do you always fly Talos with 0% EMP resist? That's obvious fail fit to me cuz both experienced player or even gate guns will eat you alive in matter of seconds.

I run 3 large shield rigs (or two shield rigs one em rig) 1 T2 invul as well as 2 meta large shield extenders as well as a dc 2. Dunno what fit you are referring to. Resists on any T3 bc will only get you so far. However in light to gate gun fire it is always best now to have a 400km or so pounce.

All you do in a gang is align. When target is in system burn it, warp off come back. Very simple with new gate mechanics. You can even leave your drones and come back. Just reconnect to them.
