I pretty much names the ships I own after something religiousy (e.g. Celestial Wrath) or in Latin (e.g: Agnus Dei)


It's a bit of a pain when you have to think of them.. so i've already listed them down (even ships I don't even own/will ever own)

I tend to name them after stuff in books I've read. Like the Imperial Star Destroyer "Errant Venture" captained by Booster Terrik.

or "Wild Karrde"
"Pulsar Skate"

etc.

Of course I've gotten into Andy McDermott's books recently so maybe when I grow up and get alts I'll name one ship "Buggeration" and the other one "Fuckery"

Generally, the name I give to a ship reflects the ship's name:

Merlin == Mage, Wizzard, etc.
Hawk == Red Tail, Sharp-Shin, Tony, etc.
Drake == Mallard, Muscovy, Wooden Decoy, etc.
Raven == Huginn, Muninn, Poe, etc.
Cormorant == Smelly Seabird, Stinky Sky-Rat, etc.

You get the picture.

Gonna name my legion Pulse Theory. Dont kno why but i like the sound of that..

I always name my Cyclones "Ghetto Cruiser I, II" and so on. Name my Drakes "Quack Attack". Named my Rattlesnake "Mo-Fo" for no reason other than because I could. Named my Chimera "The Black Pearl", and finally, my Rorqual... "The Pu**y Wagon". Love the Kill Bill movies. Blink

Everytime I "steal" a ship, I keep the original name. Maybe one day the previous owner will see it on dscan... Pirate

most of my ships get greek, roman or other classical names. some examples that are typical would be things like:

antigonus
tyre
hephaestion
seleucus
illyria
pergamum
cicero

things along those lines.

Buzzard == Beaky, Two Faced (Loony tunes references to buzzards)
