For you guys that have Eset smart security 5 and can't install the game the normal way, or after a manual installation the client won't connect to server status: If you dont like to completely disable your firewall, here is what I did to fix it:

Open ESET main window:

1) Go to Setup --> Enter Advanced Set-up

2)Under Network , click Rules and Zones
---- Click Set-up under Zone and rule editor
---- Click the + under Host Process for Windows Services
---- Scroll down, find "Deny communications for svchost.exe" and right click --> EDIT
----Change action to "Ask". Then click OK. Then hit OK again.

3) Then go to Web and Email settings.
---- Protocol Filtering --> Excluded Applications.
---- Scroll down that list till you find the crap with Eve Online logos on it. Tick the box. Hit Ok. Hit Ok one more time.

SHould do the trick.
