Extinction level event? That is a massive understatement.

The energy released is on par with a supernova explosion; say 'baibai' to the solar system.

Still about 12 orders of magnitude too low for a supernova.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

Avatar Titan:

If an Avatar titan bumped you at full speed, 75 m/s, you would receive 6,407,200,000,015 joules (6.4 trillion joules).

If an Avatar titan bounced off an EVE sun and hit a stationary ship while going 20,000 km/s, 455,620,000,000,000,000,000,000 joules (455.6 Sextillion Joules) are released.

If an Avatar titan collided with a stationary object at light speed (299,792,458 m/s) it would release 204,740,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 joules (204.7 Septillion joules).

If an Avatar titan collided with a stationary object at full warp speed (1.5 AU/s) it would release 86,034,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 joules (86 Nonillion joules).

There goes the neighborhood. Cool

According to special theory fo relativity, you cant reach the speed of light. You can at best be infinitely close to it. When doing so, the energy of the object is approaching infinity. Relativistic effects would also have great impact on the calculations even when the titan was travelling 20k km/s.
Also I recommand reading some warp-drive articles. Warp-drive speed is basically a speed the object can travel against outer space. The object itself cannot ever cross the speed of light tho. The theories of warp-drive are based on solutions of Einsten's general relativity equations and they are pretty exciting. Problem is to acquiere enough energy to create a 'warp bubble' and to develop a shielding, which can possibly keep the travelling object (ship) and its crew safe from the enormous amount of radiation caused by this. Its all just a theory tho. Smile

if the 4 o'clock interbus freighter and the 3 o'clock quafe tanker are travelling from jita to dodixie and dodixie to jita respectively, each with a warp velocity of 4.5 AU per second, and a base velocity of 120m/s, how many catalysts will it take to gank both of them assuming 150k structure hitpoints on each of them and what system would be ideal to gank them if the quafe tanker is warping straight to gates and the interbus freighter is autopiloting?

as a bonus, calculate the equation for the loot fairy, and recite the prayer of the loot gods

Collisions in Eve have no damage. It is known.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

the correct answer is 42

bonus:
the loot fairy's equation is 8=D
the prayer of the loot gods is the following:

The pod goo has a negative effect on g force thereby canceling out and sense of movement.

Shame about the rest of the ship though... I doubt there's any substance that can withstand 1200G's without severe shear and distortion... So you would be a flat blob of jelly spread out very thinly among a very thin ship that's leaking pod goo everywhere...

You would be pulling about 1,281.58 G's. Think about that next time your flying a tackle frig. Big smile

Humans can't even survive 9 G's for more than a few minutes.

Thats why god made inertial dampners....

Okay - so this is not enough joules to trigger the Big Bang.

But, couple these quantities of energy with the perfectly elastic collisions in EvE, and I think we have found a way to herd tech moons into your own neighborhood !!!

Titan Pilots = tech moon herders. Oh wait, we warp through planets and moons, I forgot. Hopefully we can do this at sublight speeds.
