Why did it take so long...?

Back when I was 23 years old, I played a game called Eve Online. It had a broken bounty system and a ship tier system that while pratical on paper, resulted in all ships of the lower tiers amongst their own class being ignored and hardly utilized...

Now that I'm 32 years old (wow, I'm old now), that broken bounty system has finally been fixed and the tier system has finally received the attentioned that it needed those 9 years ago...

My only question is... why did it take so long? Why does everything take so long? These are things that have been needed for the last 9 years. Why does everything move at such a glacial pace? At this pace I'll be 41 years old before they finally figure out what to do with supercaps...

Everyone knows that what you do with supercaps is lock them, orbit at optimal, and pound the sh** out of them while your interceptors hold them down for you.

thats what you do with supercaps.

CCP hired a dev who actually plays the game and asked him to make changes to a part of the game he understands. Persuading such a person to live on a barren rock in the atlantic and work for 10p a day was the real coup. Big smile

Simple—conspiracy.

They knew that to prolong the life of the game, they'd make changes gradually and save some for 10 years time ^^.
This way, we could get another 3-5+ years out of EVE Cool.

Must be some fat ass intercepters...

Though I feel you op; There is a lot of stuff they simply haven't bothered polishing. I'm looking at you CQ! Hopefully this so called 'second age' of EVE aka moving from beta status... brings this game to proper life.

Who's the more foolish the fool or the fool who replies to him?

CCP is from Iceland. They do things at a glacial pace... Blink

Me? I blame it on their decision to use Python to code the game. Had they done it like the big boys and uses a real programming language, they'd be further along now. But that's just me.

What's going to happen now is that Dust 514 will go online and all CCPs company energy will be going into making Eve and Dust compliment each other more... the results will be to go from a glacial pace to suspended animation.

I'm waiting with baited breath for the day a dustbunny team kills a titan or mothership that's in orbit.

I'm gonna be out bathing in the tears of rage that will fall from on high.

and for the cries of how unfair it is that the mealy-mouthed infantry-punks with 50,000 ISK in gear shot down their billion isk toys.

It will happen.

Dustbunnies will get killmails.

People in GD will rage about how they thought they got to be the uncaring finger of god delivering wrath from on high.

I want to be there, so I can say I was there.

Exactly, everyone's idea of what EvE will become differs and we all wait wondering if it will be as great as we think.

This was were diblo 3 went wrong it actually produced the product, so everyone's hope disappeared over night.

Making us hope they are not really as silly as the were 18 months ago gives us renewed hope. If the fix up the game off our hope may be gone.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

Diablo 3 is great for free money that you put almost no effort in to.

People who spreadsheet needed more re-balancing.

Truth be told there are hundreds of innovations in CCP's hands that no one dare mention out of fear that 1000's of players will determine that EVE is going the wrong way.

One such innovation would involve DUST soldiers "back-hacking the mainframe" of a rorqual clone-vat bay. First? wasn't me.
