But yeah as stated use map statistics, dotlan etc. Stick to know hotspots and FW space - Nisuwa, Tama, Nennemalia, Heyd, Amamake, Kourmonen, etc.

Are you serious? I've been playing EVE all this time and didn't know this. I thought if you started attacking randoms in nullsecurity space, you'd take security hits and never be able to go back to high sec! I thought you could only attack outlaws (sec status less then -5) without penalty!
