hi all i just finished bc 5 for when the changes come in . i was just wondering weather it is worth training destroyer 5 as i don't use them much/ at all
will there be any changes/buff to destroyer as i dont want to wast skill training time for a ship that i most likely wont use


also anyone think there will be a roll in eve for dessie apart from lvl 2 missions

Take a look at the new destroyers.

Decide if you like them enough to fly them.

If yes, train the skill.
If no, don't.

God, I have no heart to do this...

Nobody knows when split will happen. Devs just hinted it would be a good idea to train those skills in nearest future if you think you will need all races dessies and BC hulls. So do you need/want fly all races dessies/BC hulls? Remember that those skills won't be for free, you will pay for them with your clone upgrade costs. And time that you could spend for something more useful now.

Destroyers may not have much purpose in 0.0, but in low-sec we fly the hell out of them. Destroyers especially get used in Faction Warfare, they dominate small plexes. If you love to PvP then you should probably train Destroyers to V, even if you currently live in 0.0. Because if you truly love to PvP eventually you will end up in FW low-sec, where the PvP flows like water.

edit. "Nobody knows when split will happen" so its not on friday then ?? because you sounded quite sure in your earlier post

2nd edit. i have 7 days left until dessie 5 (training now) if change happens friday will i have 3-4 days left for each race ship. or will i have to start lvl v over ?

I would suggest spending the 7 days to train it. It could save you 21 days of training in the future if you develop a taste for them or their T2 variant.

Ya know, I thought the same thing too but... doing missions where you're in a battleship and all the rats are in battleships and it just becomes a math problem of tank vs dps over 50km of distance gets kind of dull.

Every now and then I like to jump into a tiny frigate or destroyer and breeze through a low level mission where things like movement still matter and I can actually see my enemies without having to hit "zoom to target."

And if you're not playing EvE to have fun... well, seek help. Blink

You might want to look-up Interdictors, which require Destroyers 5.

One of the main reasons I see them wanting to split the destroyer/BC skills up by faction, is that it makes it possible and consistent to add faction dessies and BC's, which we currently lack.

Pirate or navy destroyers will probably find more uses than the current ones...
