Well, in my spare time I write fiction. As I was in the original thought process for one of the stories, I played a game called Dark Orbit, flying a ship called a Leonov. I liked the sound of Leonov, and when I added an 'a' to the end of it to make Leonova, I liked the cute sounding name, hence the character was born. The last name is a name of a planet in the story.

I went through various nicknames in my time of youth, some nice, some not so. Even now, being 20 I still get called Gibbo.

It comes from my last name, Gibson.

It is not as common a nickname for Gibson, the more common ones are Gib, Gibby.

The 3771 comes from Tiger Woods 2004, I was sooooooo excited to play it on my brand new PC. Gibbo was taken and 3771 was the suggested alternative. I have stuck with it ever since lol

Schmata is just English spelling for Polish word "szmata" (both pronounced same way) which in general means dirty piece of rag or cloth but in slang it is used as a substitute of calling somebody a wh*re.

Bastanold was suggested by game and I kinda like a sound of it.

Ob´ject`less
a. 1. Having no object; purposeless.

Ha·tred (htrd)

I was thinking it could been construed as meaning unabated hatred in every direction imaginable. now just if people would stop calling me "objectiveless"

Croniac has been my game name for about 15 years now, in various online games. It was taken from the old Bungee game 'Myth'. Croniac was a lesser commander of some sort in that game and I just liked the name, it fits in all types of games, sci-fi, or fantasy, or swords/magic stuff, so I've just never really needed to pick another name.

Radelix Cisko
JUMP DRIVE ACTIVE
#310 - 2012-01-06 20:26:40 UTC
Came up with Radelix in the early 90's when I started playing various games. Quake mostly at the time. Can't remember the inspiration but I think it was the name of a planet in movie, 10,000 iskies to anyone who can figure it out. Cisko because it seemed to fit

Despite my posting prowess I really am terrible at this game

In 1991 I was dialing in to a BBS for the very first time and had to get a handle. As the golfer I was I picked the old scottish name for the 5 Iron club - Mashie. I have used that name online ever since.

When I started to play EVE I wanted to use Ione Saldana as a name from the books by Peter F Hamilton, however I was 3 years late to grab it so I used the surname and added Mashie infront.

My alts Monica Foulkes, Dominique Vasilkovsky and a few others are however all straight out of those books without added tweaking.

From Middle English mysterie < Latin mysterium < Ancient Greek μυστήριον (musterion, “a mystery, a secret, a secret rite”) < μύστης (mustēs, “initiated one”) < μυέω (mueō, “I initiate”) < μύω (muō, “I shut”).

Back before spammers and scammers I thought, "Wow is this cool, I can change my name, nobody knows who I am"
