So... all those vacuous post-Retribution threats to unsub....

Good to know that I was right. Nothing but hot air.

Yep looks like this new bounty system is hollowing out the game

Yep I guess EVE really is 75% PVE players with no interest whatsoever in pvp.

What makes you think people are PvPing...?

If anything data suggests people are doing PvE and other non PvP activities, sheep will be sheep...

Incarna killed that trend pretty thoroughly. Both logins and sub numbers have been on good recovery in 2012, but login numbers are still a way off from peak times.

A more scientific approach would be to check the day's ships killed stats over the 4 main trade hubs and see how they relate with the % increase of players who did stuff in them.

Or, to make stuff simpler, take yesterday's and todays ships destroyed per hub, normalize them, then divide the day's peak playerbase by those destructions.

Indeed. I would be very curious to see the peak log in numbers 4-6 weeks from now.
There are a lot of PvE players who are more than a little upset atm.
If CCP follows through with their plans on hitting PvE even harder when they "fix" the current AI defect where the NPC's only go after the 1st wave of drones, well, that should make things really interesting.

This is one of the two delicate times of the year when long time (6 - 12 months) subscribing players decide whether to renew the sub or not. Also, peak players = peak of people who scrutinize the game.

CCP have just to pray that very few of those are adversely affected with some of their most annoying new features.

You do realize that even 4 years ago we were hovering around 65k people in Euro. If nothing else, it points to negligible growth on CCP's part. Conicidentally about 3 years ago was when CCP had their staff changes and everything started becoming gradually shittier. People have just acclimated to the **** now is all.

The All Time graph at the bottom, right hand side, http://eve-offline.net/?server=tranquility is all the proof I need of the sadly downhill slope since January 2011.

But go ahead. Continue argueing with the wind.

It's hard to realise something that never happened.

Anyway, here is some perspective (for the historically inclined, there's also this as a point of comparison).

Hard to argue with that...but people will anyway.

As an aside, I haven't looked at that site for a while. When did Chribba switch it up so that it reads properly for those of us raised to read from left to right and expect to see an oldest to newest format?

High Five CCP!
Jita maxed at 2,411 pilots with CPU at 85-87% but TiDi at 33-50%. The cap has been lowered to 2,350 so that TiDi doesn't kick in so aggressively but will probably be increased later tonight to 2,375 (at least as an experiment) to find the sweet spot. It's currently holding steady at 2,350-2,355 pilots, CPU at 85-90% and TiDi at ~ 75-80%.

Obviously, too many Unit of Lag were being traded in Jita.
