So CCP something has bothered me for a while. You only show the Gallente Federation majorly under negative aspects and with moments of weakness. While the other empires have their flawed moments, they are generally portrayed oppositevely showing only their positive aspects and rarely showing weakness.

I can assume this is due to the fact CCP's writers have a real life bias against libertarian and virulent democratic stereotypes due to real life nations such as Europe and the United States. However I believe the Gallente Federation is more than Space America or Space European Union, something the majority of fans and CCP themselves fail to see.

The Gallente Federation is not a space democracy, it is an infinitely long union of nations, people, cultures and beliefs that as Mekhana wrote down at the IGS, the Federation is a 'celebration of the human spirit'. There has to be a stop to comparing the factions to real world countries.

There's more to the Gallente Federation than propaganda, there is deep and romantic idealism that burns passionately within their populace. I believe CCP has been so busy with keeping a negative aspect outlook on the universe, they are blind to the little and simple things that are just within reach that makes the Gallente Federation and its people beautiful causing in the end a lot of wasted potential and opportunity to write gold.

I think it's time to seeing more than one side of the spectrum. And for god's sake enough of the punching bag and buttmonkeyness of the fluff. When was the last time you represented the Gallente Federation that made any of us proud? That trailer three years ago? Sheesh.

Agree with this. Showing the bad sides is absolutely fine. At least contrast it with strengths, or show that the bad might be subjective and down to interpretation.

OOC We all know the Gallente are the good guys the only freedom loving democracy in New Eden.

Perhaps CCP fear that most players would want to be the good guys.

I don't think they would. I think the majority of players would want to be bad guys, with the good guy market being a niche. That's how they market their game anyways.

Besides the good guys are always show as either always a vigilante or someone out for an unspecific revenge. Not exclusive Gallente traits.

I think they got it pretty easy in the Empyrean Age novel...

Gallente aren't really "good". What they are is a model of some if not most of the world's current democracies, fraught with corruption and betrayal
