Question regarding bitter vet status

So from my limited knowledge of the game a bitter vet is someone who has

1. Had their gameplay style nerfed

2. Invested tons of time, isk and skill points into training for a ship only to see it nerfed and they believe that they have wasted that time and CCP will never refund their SP.

So were new Vets created when

1. Supercaps were nerfed after people spent a year perfecting them

2. Tengu pilots who spent a year perfecting that ship only to find out that they have been nerfed.

and the advice given is

1. CCP; spent six months training some else. just keep subbed.

2. Bitter vets "Cross train for everything as one day your favourite ship will be nerfed to death"

Question

1. Have any new bitter vets been created over this patch

2. Can you think of other times that bitter vets have been created.

3. As most players are caldari and the tengu is a viable option for a new player do you think that many will consider quitting as they have just spent there first year training for a ship that has been nerfed and they cannot be bothered to train for a different ship (before you say that it does not take long to train for another ship remember its not what you think its what they think)

Bittervets can generally fly everything already. With everything available, it all seems equally crap.

Welp, Bitter Vet is 'officially' 100,000,000 SP.....or so they say.

I'm a little over halfway there, and yeah, that's going to be a ton of Level 5's that's for sure.

I'll post an update when I'm there in 3 years.

Well, I got +100 mill SP and I'm not bitter.

Sure, there hasnt been a decent content update in years. Nullsec is empty except for the two mega-blobs that are trying their darndest not get in each other's way. Lolsec. Highsec? New mission AI eats drones for breakfast, missile nerf and so on and so forth. Noob systems are completely safe wtfsandbox. Canflipping is out of the question now. I could go on and on. Everything used to be better when I started years ago! But bitter I am not.

I don't think that it depends on skillpoints or special ships.

The most important thing is to be either unsubscribed or log into the game only once per month to change some hilariously long skills.
But even though they practically don't play this game anymore, bittervets spend many hours per day on forums complaining about the game and how ccp are dumbing down eve, giving in to the carebears, giving in to the goons, etc.

On second thought...to be a real bittervet, you will need to have at least some active accounts (most likely alts)...just to threaten to cancel all of them with every new expansion...

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

While the first part is true, many bittervets don't care if the game is being dumbed down or about carebears, if they do its to troll others.

Man is this ever Gospel Truth.

I understand the Little Things fixes and their import that's for sure. but since I started 3 yrs ago, that first summer was the addition of PI.

After that.....the highly specialized Incursion stuff. Meh. Just not interested here. Plus I always though they were nothing but Glorified Level Six Missions.

Incarna........I'll just keep my mouth shut.

And that was my first year and a half.

The other year and a half..............................QuestionAttentionUgh

Just a buncha nerfing all around no matter what the playstyle.

No wonder I spent 80 hours this past month on Civilization V.

EDIT: And it's no wonder that the all-time TQ chart at EVE-Offline keeps going down and down and down after its Jan 2011 Peak.

Not sure if I can agree.
I think you just pointed out the difference between vets (people who don't play the game anymore) and bittervets (people who don't play anymore, yet are strangely butthurt about every changes ccp brings to the game).
A bittervet still cares. That's the source of all his bitterness.

I talked briefly with Jon Lander (CCP Unifex) about the importance of adding some content for veterans soon.

Let's hope he listens... my reasons to stick around ran out long ago. :|

I am a bit bittervet and that's not because of ships nerfs (well the 'cane nerf stinks imo Ugh).

What makes me bittervet is seeing EvE sort of "drying up".
It's OK to have old features fixed but that's should not mean we have to wait years and years to see something exciting new.

Also, the nullsec stagnation, anyone recalls back in 2008 when the CCP news were "big fleet XYZ meets big fleet ABC" all the time. And what about the big thefts, the big alliances sabotages... the news constantly talking about EvE. And now it's all gone.

Now, the biggest news are: "New offer, buy 20000000000 PLEX for discount" and "SOMER blink".
