dying ?!
Yup. It's dying so much that, yesterday, on a Friday (consistently the day in the week with the fewest players logging in), we had just under 45k peak users. Over the last six months, only Sundays (consistently the day in the week with the most number of players logged in) have seen more than that.

One good Friday in the last six months? And it just happens to be the first Friday after an expansion.

Impressive. But meaningless.

To put it into perspective, I have two Fridays in my stats that have 45k+ PCUs — one was during fanfest 2012, the other was Jita-riot Friday. Before Incarna, 45k would be the number all Fridays were bumping up against; since then, there has been maybe three in total that have even come close. Oh and the last time we had a 50k+ Saturday (since the TQ PCU is 50.6k and climbing) was also during the Incarna protests.

So while it's common to see bumps after expansions, this is quite unprecedented. The exact meaning is to early to speculate about, so calling it meaningless is quite incorrect.
