Oh ok thanks for clearing that up.
Scrubs my plan of dropping hold fulls of Amarrian interceptors with max insurance and blowing them up with an alt then salvaging them.
Wait does FW combat payouts effect the bounty?
If not this might still work.

The formula is broken: it takes out the full amount of plat insurance rather than the net (payout - cost). This is dumb: it overly reduces the bounties that people recover for no reason (because the whole point of the insurance reduction is so people don't profit, which is accomplished by doing it on a net basis). This should get fixed.

While I appreciate someone posting something useful on the forums for once, if people didn't bother reading the dev blog that clearly explains all this they aren't likely to make it through this thread.

FW LP payouts for kills are completely independent from bounty rewards, so theoretically you get "paid twice" if you kill a FW war target with a bounty on his head.

Question: insurance is subtracted from loss. Salvage is ignored. How about loot drop. Is that left out of the loss calculation? So, I'm in a 1 billion ISK mach with a 2 billion ISK faction fit. I go boom. 1 billion ISK of mods drop. What is my loss? 2B or 3B?

2B. It only counts what is destroyed. Anything left that can be scooped is not counted as a loss.

do you have the numbers on how FW payouts work?
IE how much do they payout per 100k value of ship hull killed?
Disregard fitting in this case.

Take the value lost of the ship (same one used in the bounty), and divide it by 10,000. You receive that amount of LP.

If Vic was on the other side of the militia, and you killed his 75 mil ISK Drake (post-insurance, etc), you would get 75,000,000/10,000 = 7,500 LP with your faction. This might not be strictly correct because of tier multipliers, but taking that into the rquation, you are basically getting the value of 1-2 faction frigates by killing a 75 mil ISK ship. Remember that this LP gain is also split with your fleet if you are in one. Still, if you claim it all, that is a 15-30 mil ISK payout, depending on your faction, market prices, etc.
