Now that ccp has removed canflipping from the game, what are some effective ways to harass miners?

i mess around in lowsec all the time. i get maybe one fight for every 4-5 times I go out. You're a joke if you think lowsec is a good place to find pvp. I also do nullsec ops with my alliance all the time. But sometimes you just want to **** with miners, you know?

I don't want to do this for lack of alternatives.

It's actually quite easy to find fights in lowsec, trick is you have to actually fight the people there instead of hiding all the time.

This isn't true - a few of my bumping buddies went on a can-flipping spree during the last few days of inferno and got themselves some kills. Some also continue to consider expander rigs essential for their ice-mining macks. Reading blogs, patch notes, etc is :effort:. P

Why would I need to jetcan mine when I have almost an entire jetcan's worth of space and 2 more levels to go in skills?

Seriously. If you're mining in a mack, which most solo miners will, there is literally no reason to ever drop a jetcan for more than like 2 seconds

Agreed. Ive found warping to a planet and waiting tends to get a fight.

Glad you think im a joke tho. You are obviously looking in the wrong places. Nevermind, carry on with your griefing, if its how you get your kicks

If your idea of "fighting" is to feed larger groups guaranteed kills and be resigned to winning one out of maybe fifty engagements, sure. High-sec, and to a small extent wormholes, are really the only places where small-scale pvp can really happen.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

So you crying now basically because you cant steal from defenceless high sec miners without having at least a small risk of someone actually fighting you for it? *shakes head*

The system is easy to bypass by simply using an alt to do the initial theft, and then re-steal the can from your suspect-flagged alt. Then you just tell the miner in local "here you go buddy, I got your ore back for you."

I don't think anyone's crying about that.

Aside from the miners.

If you steal from your alt and become a suspect, then you are still a target for anyone, so that wouldn't work.

You don't become a suspect after looting a suspect's belongings. Also you can just fleet up and transfer items legally, and the miner wouldn't even know.

This is fun.

People living in null sec are FFA 24/7 (ship and pod).
People living in low sec are FFA 24/7 (ship and pod).
People living in wormhole are FFA 24/7 (ship and pod).
People with low sec status are FFA 24/7 (ship and pod).

But people willing to play the criminal in high-sec can't deal with a 15 minutes PvP flag pretend to be special snowflakes deserving special protection by game mechanics.

It's good to have a mechanics If dealing with a short term PvP flag is such a problem there're less harsh games to play. Oh wait, maybe you prefers a /pvp command you can activate when is convenient for you, and nor risk of losses... Then go and play WoW.

So then, what exactly is the problem? Just loot the can and take the consequence.

a: the mackinaw buff means you find 1/10 the targets you used to, making it pointless to go out in the first pace
b: if you do go out and do somehow manage to find someone jetcan mining, and steal from them, they can just steal it back without consequence

Yes you can get around B with an alt, but that doubles the effort for what is already a super low reward activity because of A

So much useless and false information in this thread...

1, Miners are still being ganked.

2, Miners still use cans.

3, A lot of miners still don't fit for tank.

4, Harden up or goto hello kitty. *Grumbles* Wah wah wah, MoM!!!! Ccp made screwing with miners harder....Farmville that way. ---->

I'm on your side, but remember: spite is its own reward. We can afford to lose money here, and still be much better off than the people we pick apart.
