Issues, Workarounds & Localization

Put Eve on an external and took my laptop to a friends house to d/l the patch. So when it gets done says clients ready etc, log in on my character fully to see the station screen. So i pack up the laptop and external and bring it back to my house and try to just run Eve off of the external but now its saying i need to d/l the 1.5 gig patch again... wtf i just d/led it. So what im wondering if there is some sort of code that puts the data on just that computer to where ill have to d/l it on all computers i play eve on? And yes before you suggest im sure im running the eve client from the right location and it's not trying to run it from my desktop from the old data. Have also tried the repair tool but still saying the patch isn't even in the folder so i need to d/l it
