How many of you prefer the old Locked Target display over the new one?

I have nothing against people liking the new one over the old one. Though it is apparent that many have the same view as me, and it is a majority. CCP needs to create an option for those that don't like it to change it and for those that like it to keep it. That is the best fix for everyone.

I m curious about how many might be having issues due to playing at low resolutions or with scaled down UIs or no antialiasing, thinking it would be nice to know if it is just bad design or an artifact from low graphics?

For PVE or if it was something implemented in a desktop application it would be great... for trying to quickly get info for PVP use its a massive step backwards as people have said:

Its not how humans naturally read information (left<>right/right<>left)

Its uses more space to present the same information in a less legible fashion and would be almost unreadable in a proper PVP situation if it was smaller.

I may get used to it but it will always be a step backwards compared to what we used to have and I'll never feel as comfortable with it.

Its definitely not friendly to people on lower resolutions - I'm playing at 1920x1080 (one at a time client fullscreen) on a 24" panel and I'm having a lot harder time reading information off it than the old squares.

I hate the new one as well!

But mostly i hate it because i am not allowed to choose between the old one and the new one!

Always those QQ people in this forum... No the new UI is great love it. This change was announced 1 month ago or even more in the dev post READ IT FOR ONES. The only problem is and always is that people have problems with new things if old things are change.... Get over it or gtfo.

Those with higher level brains realize I am talking about those who have taken the time to post a constructive comment in the thread. You go look back and tell me what number dislikes this and what number likes it and you will find a majority. Thanks for your oh so constructive comment.

I saw the first version and started a similar thread with similar responses, even got a dev post and the next weekend I saw they changed it in to a second version that actually reduced the ability to see it further and made the problem worse. I do read them, I do pay attention, but most of all I don't tell other people to 'get over it or gtfo'. I ask for compromise that caters to both sides.

...And that is nowhere near enough info to propose that a company spend resources to allow dual funtionality.
To suggest otherwise is,... Silly.

A small example gives reason to gain a bigger example. CCP has followed that rule using the forums because less than a fourth (probably less) post regularly on the forums. If they see a trend on the forums they will expand their search. I have already talked to many of my PVP friends and they have much the same view as I and I see a trend. I'm posting on the forums to see if there is a trend here and there is. Information is cumulative and if you see multiple upon multiple of the same trend change is in the wind. Support me in my efforts not for the fact that you are fine with how the change has effected you, but for the fact that many are not so.

A number of circular and semicircular gauges in use on a number of locations and devices would indicate that round gauges are very much capable of being intuitive. Additionally a circular gauge as currently implemented provides indisputably greater information granularity that the old bar was capable of.

It seems ok to me ,

I wonder if a lot of the hate for it is the standard "urgh change " that tends to effect MMO players Smile

In saying that ... why can't they have both . Let people pick what one they want ?

Hate the new in space UI checking in. Takes more screen space for no more functionality.

I love the ability to have two lines of targets though, but the hit notifications are just bloody annoying; option to remove it please!

If anything I hope CCP implements the option to use the old version if you want to.

Thoughts on this?

CCP doesn't implement options (ever), they cram new **** straight down your throat whether you like it or not, even if it's something so simple as a UI change.

Edit: Holy ****, I just had to actually fight something with the new UI. You can't even see anything past the UI, terrible design.

Both the target reticle and the target icons need to be DRASTICALLY reduced in size.

Safety needs to be removed, or at least an option to remove it in the menu.

Sounds need to be re-visited, they are horrible. Especially the steel door sound, the "whoosh" going into warp and the "alarms" for the shield, armor, hull alerts.

Lots of unnecessary changes when they should have been balancing ships and fixing the broken wardec system.

Way to go CCP!

In-game sounds muted since Retribution, F10 Jumper since Odyssey

Why can't they just allow us to use the old UI if we wish. There was nothing wrong with it. This is unbelievably infuriating for me.
