I would have to agree, but simply because of the spinup time of the drive.
seems to me that even with the better defensive abilities of the dst, if more than one person is shooting you while the drive is spinning up, you're likely toast anyway.

DSTs get into warp off a gate in about the same time as a freighter. Plenty of time to bump it around until some firepower shows up.

Just leave it in your hangar and save yourself the guaranteed KM.

I'm not sure that bumping it would do any good though in light of how the MJD works.
Since there is no align requirement to the MJD and it simply jumps you 100 km from your original position and then maintains whatever speed and direction you had at the start of the jump, unless you were scramming the DST it could in theory manage to jump those 100km before the guns arrived.
This in and of itself might not make the DST get away per say, but with a 6 to 12 sec spinup time, it could in theory help a little if the guns take a while to get there.
I still think it would be pointless though due to the other factors (like align and warp times) since there would be no real gain realized from having it there unless the tackler buggered up something.

Wow, what's the SIG radius on that fit? Inertia Stabs and shield modules, plus shield extender rigs all increase your SIG radius. Not a good thing for trying to be fast and sneaky. Use nano fiber, and agility rigs instead. IMO of course.

I agree that the BR doesn't have time to lock the ganker (especially with warp core stabs fitted), so I also chose ECM burst. However:

Last I checked they were pretty unscannable when they were cloaked. Don't think this changes much..

The DST really is just not usable as is. But I'm with Celly, there's something cool about them and I would like to have more of a reason to fly one.

I wish they would give it a ship bay so that you could use it to move a few rigged ships around. And some way to have a chance to get out of camps, MJD might actually work. It would get you out of infinite warp disrupt range and from that point it would be a matter of getting aligned before enough tackles could burn over to you. It would take some real skill to pilot and a mixed fleet to catch. Both good things.

Yeah, I learned about that after I tried it once.
I don't fly BRs anymore anyway since I sold the char that can fly them a few months ago.

I just wish the 'unscannable' bit also applied to custom security NPCs so I could move my contraband more easily.
They seem to be able to lock and scan me a lot better than any player can.

Does railgun ammunition come in Hollow Point?

Yeah, always burn over to their last position; the pilot may try to go back to the gate or align to the wrong object and then stop for a sec to realign, maybe the fit sucks and he will be aligning for a few seconds, or maybe just missed the jump button all together and be sitting there cloaked.

The lowsec camps I've been through tend to just ignore the cloaked ships. The null sec ones often come right over to where they saw you in an attempt to decloak the ship.
