Is there any link for a manual patch download?

It is quoted in the error message window - but try here: http://community.eveonline.com/download/
I am still working on getting my second client working, tells me about corrupted download. First went without problems, third worked also, but I restarted computer before updating it.

Ok, I confirm. Restarting the comp before each update worked for me. 3 clients updated.

Using the launcher gives the error that the files are corrupt and unusable. That happened on two computers. On one of them, I uninstalled and reinstalled and ended up at the same place. I tried on a third computer, which has never had EvE on it, and had the same. The manual patch linked above is a zip file but trying to unzip it gives the error message that the file is corrupt. After downloading and installing a new version of WinZip, the error message has changed to being a checksum error. Downloading the file onto a fourth computer and doing the whole exercise there produced the same.

Any suggestions on what else to try would be appreciated.
