I guess CCP intended for Eve to not have sound outside of highsec because all I ever hear out in Deklein or Delve is background space noise.

(the dynamically-adjusted jukebox idea is broken because it doesn't play music at all in nullsec)

That would be nice. No use in consuming resources.

Doubt it.

Turn the slider for music down down down. I did that on my 2nd day in eve. Never slid to the right again..

Sad

Nothing against the game's music, RealX, it's pretty well put together, but game music always gets old over time. You hear the same songs every time you play and want to change things up eventually.

The jukebox was fantastic because you could just swap in a new playlist and enjoy, and it was always to your taste. Removing it made many people sad, myself included.

Yeah, the nullsec ambiance is pretty minimalist and I do like it for that.

That's why I was looking for the "stop" button :)

How about the option of adding, you know, music to the music.

Yours flying in space to the sound of Alicia De Larocha; simply breathtaking.

Not a fan of the "music", I can respect that.

I don't like music all that much myself. Big smile

Contract In Flames, Sabaton, Nightwish, and Eluveitie to make the new EVE soundtrack.

Just make sure there's always a way for me to listen to I Saw Your Ship, Below the Asteroids, and All Which Was Lost... because :)

Its not that the Eve music is bad in general. But if you play a game for years, espacially a game you have running in the background a lot, you dont want to listen to the same music over and over again. When I play Eve and dont use Voice Chat I often listen to the radio. :)

Yay 10 years! :D

Sad
If you are sad about your customers removing sound from their gaming experience (which seems absurd in the grand scheme of things; who the **** turns off sound in games, traditionally???), then make a better sound scape in EVE.

I too turned off sound on my main character as any sort PvP with significant numbers is a jumble of unpleasant sounds. It is distracting and distasteful.

I will contrast EVE against Halo (xbox, storyline) which has one of the best soundtracks that I have ever experienced and old-school Myst for its delightful ambient sounds.

For my part, I enjoyed listening to the "classic" EVE sound track once in a while. The music was tolerable ambient, mostly.

What needs to happen here is you need to create more wonderful music for the game. Not all of us turn the music off but after hearing the same tracks over and over and over for years it would be nice to hear some new stuff :D

All of the EvE music is freely available for download or streaming. I don't have the link handy here at work, but a search (or helpful poster) will no doubt turn it up.

Believe it or not Ranger there are other use cases out here besides yours. Many of us have enjoyed having the game music play, you know, in the game. Listening to the concert last night reminded me just how great the Eve soundtrack is and also made me sad that I could no longer hear it inside the game, aside from 4 or 5.

Also, this is an ongoing issue therefore, OK to keep it on peoples' minds. CCP asked for feedback and that's what some of us are doing, rather than mocking and denigrating their fellow players. You've made it abundantly clear how you feel on this issue. No need to keep trolling.

I see, anyone that disagree's with you is trolling. Smile

I'm pretty sure the facts of the matter cover all use case scenario's.

Learn to run more than one piece of software on your computer at the same time. Pretty much every music player available (including the one you likely already have) is designed to run this way.

Now if you want them to introduce more music into the current system, then you'll get my support.

Variety is a good thing after all, but so is each area of space or certain actvities having a specific mood generated by the audio.

So instead of beating a dead horse, lets ask them to consider expanding the EvE soundscape a bit more.
