...is there a way to actually stop the music or prevent it from playing other than turning its volume slider down in the options menu?

This. I actually listen to the music tho, in iTunes. But I have the audio button unticked since years and years and years, and the music slider all the way left since even further back.

AFK-cloaking in a system near you.

I just thought it might uselessly continue playing in the background, when I just turn the volume down.

That's why I was looking for the "stop" button :)

even if it does, the client resource use is negligible. Don't let it bother you.

I'm looking into either to add a checkbox to make the music stop or when the slider goes to 0.0 that the the music system will also stop.

How about the option of adding, you know, music to the music.

Yours flying in space to the sound of Alicia De Larocha; simply breathtaking.

I muted the Jukebox soon after i started playing EvE, it was just not my type of music. But the new surroundings sensible atmosphere is awesome. And station sounds. Was flying for the first time since forever below a gallente station and heard that someone took a lod speech there, never heard that before, its great.

Not a fan of the "music", I can respect that.

I don't like music all that much myself. Big smile

All my music is in .flac format and I don't think that I could have imported the stuff into the game.

I just think that going through space, especially exploration is magic with the London Symphony Orchestra keeping one company...

It's not that I don't like the music, having it play on 4 clients simultaneously is a bit weird though ;)

RealX, I listen to EvE tracks outside of the client all the time man, head up buddy! Cool

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Titans on fire outside "The Alamo" of NOL-M9. I watched massive Super Capital fleets glitter in the dark near the BKG-Q2 gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain...  Time to die.

When it comes to music, you can't please everyone. Some people like rock, some people like trance, you really have an international community playing the game.

RealX, it will be a lot of work, but how about composing themes / genres for the music, and letting us get them from the NeX store for plex / aurum / whatever. We get options for the music, you get paid for work, and everyone wins.

EDIT: Also, a way to stream music for during live events, so that you don't have to patch unique event tunes to the client beforehand.
