Miners, rejoice! Freeport Amamake is now open for 23.5/7 Goon free Ice-mining. Set course now to Amamake and be greeted by the elite peeveepee protection who will shield you from losing Mack's to Goonies.

Go ahead Ice miners, our Tempest alphasteeds won't traumatize you there.

the first thing you need to do is stop posting about it and making websites about resisting the goon. The more attention this gets the longer it will last.

Been considering playing the game again. Might still do so, Go back to making the ships every one will lose.

I'm surprised CCP doesn't actually have a system where if empire X sees an increase in deaths in Y system then it adds additional police for longer periods during times when said high rate of deaths occur.

I mean if I were the Gallente government, tasked with defending those in my territory, that's what I'd do. So it wouldn't really be appeasing the miners by making it harder to gank miners, it would be a natural response to a threat in their territory. Heck they should be able to setup temporarily stations in hard hit location, basically declaring martial law in systems.

Orrrr.... how about actually recognizing a criminal for more than 15 minutes? How many ganks does it take to get you to K.O.S. in Empire? Mass Murderer numbers I'm sure. Oh wait.... I just complimented them. Heh.

Honestly, I don't even know how many of us care about what is happening there in Gallente ice belt space. Well, we should care. Goonswarm is taking an extremely well-organized stab at preventing access to all Gallente ice. And they're succeeding. Yes, I'm impressed. I read their battle plan (what was public info, anyway) and it was well-thought out and masterfully executed.

So, Goonswarm's great, and the rest of us "pubbies" just suck? Why? Why do we cry and wring our hands, instead of fighting back? Goons expect us to whine at CCP(who will laugh at us, since Goon is simply using area-denial strategies and not mucking with game mechanics), instead of fighting back. They hope we fight, all the while sighing at the 9,367th whiner in local who just lost their Mack because they didn't come prepared to fight for their piece of ice.

I'm not even an ice miner, yet. I wanted to be, but my Mack is safely stored at the moment. I don't want it to be. I want it to be out there, mining. But I can't. Because first, I need to make sure the ice is clear of Goons, and stays clear of Goons.

So, I know there are smart people out there. I want to hear your ideas about how to clear the belts and keep them clear. I'll start.

I plan to use an alt and repeatedly shoot ice in my noobship w/ the ol' Civilian blaster(Gallente), getting blown up over and over again, but hopefully keeping Concord in the belt. Will this work? Does this totally suck? It's essentially what Goon is doing, yes. According to their anti-Concord strategies.

If it sucks, does anyone have any better ideas, especially long-term ones? Heavily-reinforced fleets will certainly help, but keep in mind Goon will draw resources from other ice-belt systems if they need to take down a heavily-defended fleet. Hiring merc corps for defense?

We need ideas, men and women. And we need to fight. Unless we all want to whine in 6 months because a Tech 2 armor hardener now costs 40m.

First,

I would say there is about a 99?% chance the original poster is a goon swarm alt attempting to drive prices up with whiny posts about ice belts being camped. Perception is more damaging to the market price than the reality. While there are certainly a few goons suiciding in gallente high sec the majority are off in null sec raiding delve nightly or bearing to their hearts content in Deklein.

Second,

One of the responders in this thread pointed out that you can only suicide in high sec so many times before going dead red to concord. This is absolutely true. All it really takes to stop the suiciders is a few fast frigates or interceptors sitting on the nearest high sec to low sec gates. The suiciders will have to come from low sec to high sec because of their security status. Since they are red already all you have to do is get a point on them and concord kills them for you. A couple of points and a sebo would be optimal. You will get a nice little warning message from the faction police or concord every time a criminal comes into local from the gate you are on. Just tackle anyone flashy and concord does the rest. A few well organized mining bears could tackle this project with little difficulty.

Be aware that the goonies have put a bounty out on indy ships in Gallente and Caldari space. This isn't the official CCP sanctioned bounty system where you have a "WANTED" poster out for you. The people who are trying to collect these bounties are rarely K.O.S. red. In fact, most of the wannabes, goonies and their lackeys participating in this are perfectly safe in high sec. But.... you can shoot them full of holes as soon as they attempt to gank someone. If you fire fast enough and do enough damage, you might be able to save the intended victim instead of just avenging the loss of their ship.

You are making the assumption that Goons are actually paying these bounties to people that aren't already their allies. I have no first-hand information to the contrary. Just throwing that out there.

Right because it's not like our alliance has done anything else in the past year.

Literally everything we have done in recent memory has been this side project.

On the other hand there are several testimonies of people outside our coalition receiving bounty payouts.

It's obvious; Goonswarm is a mining alliance. The other mining barges just happened to be in the way of their mining lasers
