Too late :)

I witnessed this today:

people slapping 100.000 ISK on random people for lulz (the system is 2 days old, I'm just happy people are trying it out v0v) but then someone was being super annoying and he got 70.000.000 ISK bounty in just a few minutes

I'd say that's pretty much how I said things would work out

I'm excited to see how the system evolves over the next few weeks. I've been have so much fun watching the most wanted and top bounty hunters lists since Tuesday Big smile

Not everyone has a bounty on them.

It's not a coincidense that the OP has a bounty and has a whine thread about bounties.

Somone put bouty on me because of my forum activity but is ok Cool i take it as funny part, i still feel safe and imune form any aggression in EvE etc, btw i dont avoid aggression, yesterday i spent like 400+mil on pvp raven and scorpion + few tech 1 cruisers to use them in next few days...

CCP Punkturis mention about excitment of evoling bounty system, i got similar feeling about it, because i like new bounty system it self in general, however i still dislike fact that bounty system make people exact same look, that all.

EvE isn't game, its style of living.

All Pod pilots are bad people. We are immortals who have exploited countless lives for our own devices in order to procure our meaningless mountains of space isks.

This is realistic.

Honestly I think the minimum bounty should have been more like 5 mil, but otherwise I think it's a good system.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

.I dont like this new bounty system .Not cause all my pilots have bounty now ,but cause if people keep up with placing bounties like this is will diminish real purpose of bounty.

I think starting limit for placing bounties need to much higher so if you get one you need to **** your pants ,or if nothing to start thinking hmm maybe I did something wrong.Or if nothing what James Amril-Kesh (poster above me) suggested. This way any foll can go and spent 100 mil isk by spaming 100 k bounties as cheep fun.

When I read patch notes I was thinking ,ok now players in high sec can black mail other players taking regions for mining etc ,but all it is happening is random spam of 100k-1 mil bounties.

Also CCP should make some kind of newbie protection ( yes not all trial accounts are our alts ),cause there are lots of new players that dont understand our pranks .

This is sorry to say plain stupid statement after knowing EVE player base for so many years. There is reason why other MMO player bases calling us psychopaths ,and we like that way.

News flash for CCP Punkturis all people annoy us we are even placing bounties on ourselves .

Most likely what will actually happen is that people will get bored of putting bounties on every character they see, and bounties will only issued way less

This is like complaining the new destoryers are going to take over EVE PVP because so many people are flying them.

Feature just got released, people will play with it for a while, then we'll see some real patterns of use.

It'd be useful if bounties would expire after say 1 year (even if the player keeps playing), so the effects of these "bounty happy" days won't last forever.

Last I checked there was nothing in game preventing me from locking onto another players ship and activating my weaponry. Granted, if I'm stupid about it I'll get popped by Concord or a Sentry gun, but still.. People CAN ALWAYS shoot you in eve.

I've been laying myself on the sacrificial altar. Flying around in my mighty Velator, calmly awaiting destruction, just to see this mechanic in action.

No bites so far.

A tempest in a teapot, methinks. Nothing will really change. Just the occasional surprise when you get a wallet blink for killing someone you were going to kill anyway.

One person's "annoying" is another person's "mining".

Yay bounties for EVERYONE!

I personally thought it made more sense to have bounties limited to those with a low sec rating, but having it possible for everyone does make it more fair i guess. Everyone having them does kind of diminish their impact though, soon everyone will just accept that they recieve an additional 20% isk value of the kill. The person killed won't necessarily be a bad person. Soon, everyone will be WANTED, regardless of what kind of person they are.

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

I'm actually filing a petition against you and your team for making the new bounty system UI so intuitive and satisfy that I will most likely be broke by next weekend.

Those 100k ISK pokes. So much fun. Oops

You do realize the kind of people you're dealing with, right?

Anyway, I did finally manage to find the setting the simply turn bounty icons off (still looking for button that turns the entire new UI off, but that's another story). As someone who doesn't give a flying fark about becoming a bounty hunter, this proved to be a great relief.

Well you see, these orca pilots had bounties. Their pods paid out pretty well. It wasn't a net gain, but it was fun:

Absolutely, and for that the bounty hunter system definitely serves its purpose. But the current system also fails horribly because of this:

CCP Punkturis wrote:

I understand you are happy people to try it out, but

A: That's what Buckingham is for.
B: The bounties of 100k ISK are, like any bounty indefinite until the player loses his ship which is valued enough to have the bounty paid out in full.

One of the things we players put forth in the dev blog was timers on bounties to make sure they do actually mean something. And if useless bounties are being put left and right on people for the lolz (most likely to see the response), then the person that received it knows it will be gone in a month or so anyway. This was all you needed to do to make the system work. Yet you decided to wait and see what happens clearly ignoring the warnings of players and now you see for yourself that people are clearly not using it the way you predicted. Ignorance is bliss I suppose.

Honestly I'm not a big fan of the new system. Its pretty annoying to see everyone and their mother with "wanted" splashed across their face. Atleast before u knew if someone had a bounty they did something wrong (usually), now theres no difference. The wanted splash should be reserved for personal bounties only.

This.

'Wanted' implies some of criminal behaviour. This is simply not the case with private bounties. Also, the big wanted sign becomes rather meaningless if over 50% of the population has the sign.

A big red bar also seriously messed up many portraits.
