Faction Frigates but no Destroyers in Novice Plexes?

What's the logic behind this? Last I heard it was only going to be T1 frigates in them. No faction, which would have been fine. There's really no reason to disallow destroyers now. Most faction frigates are very much capable of taking on a destroyer one way or another.

Now faction or pirate frigates will be king of the hill in novice plexes and the PvP meta will be rather limited.

Agreed, navy ships wouldn't be too bad. But if destroyers cant enter them, then pirate frigs really shouldn't either.

CCP Fozzie already stated that they will see how things develop and are able to block faction frigs from novice sites if the need arises.

I think if you look at scaling the fights is where the issues with destroyers are noticeable. In large scale fights destroyers are probably too powerful.

A pirate frigate should have a good chance to beat a destroyer.

10 pirate frigates would be murdered by 10 destroyers.

Devblog or post link please? I can't find any reference to this. Or are you in this post, referring to Factional Warfare plexes?

You don't even need a Faction frig to kill a destroyer. TD Atron/Condor and you're good

Very true. It's not about what "beats" what. It's about how are you going to counter. Will you fly safe and objectively or just whine based on what kb's are saying about those who are unable to adapt?

Getting rid of the over powered Trasher can only be good for the game play.

Hopefully players will now use the Fraction LP earned ships more.

I predict 93.7% of all ships in these plex looking for pew will in fact be...hookbills. It will be far worse then the "thrasher problem"Evil

IMO hookbills are already the most powerfull ship that can enter the current minor plex. I don't fly them much because people learn they are very tough to beat so you get very few fights.

The new plexes that allow the new destroyers and t2 frigates should be interesting. I really have no clue how that will pan out.

Yes, Thrashers are overpowered. Nobody can kill them. They are too tough. They ruin the game for every frigate pilot. There is no counter to them.

Yeah I'm going to have to dust of a pirate frig I haven't flown in a while when the changes hit. Hookbill farming online! Well for a couple days at least until they start running when I enter local. No dessies means their are some more viable counters for hookbills now

I'd imagine, but paying nearly five times that of the Hookbill to counter it kind of defeats the purpose. I can counter any solo BS easily...with a carrier.
