Looking forward to more new ship models. The work done on the new Megathron really is outstanding. Some ships still need a complete redesign, but these sort of refining of old designs really helps as well.

Also, ship skins with corporate logos, please. Even if it were as simple as using combinations of a limited color palatte on ships. This would make EVE even more visually interesting. Don't mind paying Aurum for this either.

Going to chip in again. How about giving players WiS machinima tools so we can make our own movies. I liked the Clear Skies movies, but was disappointed that it was done mostly in Half Life 2. EvE now has avatars and we can walk around. Give us the tools to make something special.

Thank the Art team for wonderful, brilliant new destroyers and fantastic Mega redesign. Everybody I've spoken absolutely loves the Corax and Algos (it has railings! ...the whole retro bomber plane meets submarine theme is great, and it looks so graceful when it turns), and bought Megas just because it looks even bosser than before, which is awesome.

- station environments look extremely dated, and it would really add a lot to have many, many more different ones*
- whole world is looking forward to redesigned Moa, Dominix, Imicus and Celestis hulls
- new wormhole nebulas and effect visuals?
- civilian orbital structures and added "world elements", in the vein of Customs Office traffic animations? You know, just little things to flesh out the non-capsuleer universe. Go crazy!

* The final, ideal goal for station environments would obviously be WiS, where you could walk inside a real ship hangar, among real player ships and admire them from human perspective in all their glory. Docking/undocking sequences, huge halls full of ships coming and going. Pretty please :)

(see: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=39174 and the deblog+comments @ http://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=3057 back in november 2011.)

Was this dismissed / fell off the radar, or is it actually now streamed in the client? Nebulas still look a bit pixelly in places. I was unsubbed during most of Crucible, and I couldn't find any followup on this issue.

Considering the DX11 project will be underway once the V3 project completes, I think this is still on the table. There is definitely some developer interest in improving the nebulae, after all. One thing that needs to be addressed is the overly inner-spherical nature of the current skybox technology that's being used. It makes the nebulae wrap around, which isn't exactly realistic when you're observing a nebula from afar. It does, however, work very well when you're inside a nebula.

I made some comments regarding the nebulae in another thread. It's a good list of things that needs to be addressed at some point.

While a few of the older nebulae looked nice, I think what we currently have has great potential.

Presently, the only things that are really holding the nebulae back from displaying their true beauty are:

1.) Image quality. Compression makes a majority of the nebulae appear blocky.
2.) Image resolution, which is, currently, low and painfully apparent when you play EVE at 1920*1080 or higher. Furthermore, the nebulae images scale horizontally instead of vertically. This makes it so that, when you play EVE at very high resolutions, they end up looking look like this or this.
3.) Banding at the edges of nebulae images. This needs to be fixed. (Here's an example.)
4.) Transparencies in the nebulae are borked. Here's what the Gallente nebula looks like in Tranquility right now. This is what it should look like, for the most part.
5.) Lastly, the nebulae should influence lighting to some degree. I imagine this will be implemented once the V3 project is complete since that's when the art team wants to update EVE's lighting model.

Fortunately, the developers are well aware of all of these issues, and it was stated in the recent CSM Minutes release that improving the nebulae is in the pipeline. Hopefully they'll receive an update in the winter expansion or next year's summer expansion.

I'm curious as well. Considering the amount of approval the project has received from the playerbase, I wonder if there are, at the moment, personnel assigned to the task, as it was stated that the project would take five man years.

I would love if tessellation was used for avatars and ambulation environments as well as the spaceship side of things.
