I do not eat enough fruit or veg, actually most days I do not eat any at all Shocked

So I was doing some course, and this guy swears by these mixed fruit and veg smoothies, it looks disgusting, and most likely taste similar, but Im curious, there must be a way to blend fruit and veg together in such a way that you really only taste the fruit, while getting the benefit of fruit and veg nutrients..

Now I want to try this, prepared to buy a smoothie maker, since we dont even have a blender in this house, but I need ideas, where to start, have any of you done this? have you found some things mix better than others, you know basic ideas of what works and what to avoid!

Thanks for any help you can give guys!!

I find the best thing to be simply scmunge up carrots. They taste better after being battered to a juice and I wouldn't really go for the smoothie stuff; just juiced veg.

And the best one is carrots. Yes, you can buy it in the shops but 99% of the time it's tarnished with preservatives in one form or another. Even adding lemon juice ruins the taste.

A good juice of carrots and nothing but carrot tastes divine and oddly enough is far more pleasant than the solid variety.

If you don't eat enough fruit or veg there's no reason to get all tech about it. Just stroll down to your nearest greengrocer and get what he's selling that's looking good or fresh. Try to get something grown local is even better and usually tastes better.

Tonight I am making a roast, for example, and I am lobbing in the oven some beetroots (marinated in olive oil, with garlic cloves and rosemary), onions roasted by chopping in half and leaving in the oven. Add some steamed (never boiled) veg and then there you have it -- lots of veg, some ruined in the oven but still better than nothing, and easy to do.

Always have a few claws of bananas around and munch on them when you have the munchies. Top fruit bananas, especailly if you get those without the furry spiders in...

I cannot stand bananas! lol

I also cannot normally stand the taste of any veg, so the idea is to add fruit to the mix (not sure if they are even smoothies) just fruit and veg, liquidized, and hopefully the taste of the veg which I hate will be almost gone, overpowered with the taste of the fruit... that's the idea anyway

Carrots + Apples + Oranges is usually OK.

But better than that, just eat an apple or orange now and then.

Use only the freshest babies.

I mean fruit and veggies.

P.S. Your banana hatred makes me happy. More fruit of questionable shape for me to consume!

Maybe some milk or yogurt added would liquify it a little? The good thing about milk products is they tend to mild-ize and reduce down any strong flavors.

Mango, Orange, Kiwi is pretty rad. Some vanilla yoghurt, 2 ice cubes, add water/yoghurt to regulate thickness.

Frozen Banana, Chocolate protein powder, one whole egg and milk/yoghurt is what i usually have for breakfast.

I live and die by my blender!

I normally go for yoghurt based smoothies or milkshakes.

One little tip is to add a small amount or fruit or veg to a drink, even if you don't like eating it.

I can often sneak in some celery or carrot into a drink without tasting it. Keeps it tasty and healthy

Look for a few recipes but don't be afraid to change ingredients and quantities. Have fun with experimenting.
