Freighters need fittings!!!

Pretty much just like mining ships used to need more ehp to have the chance to survive now too do freighters need the ability to have fittings to have a chance to survive.

We have "emergent gameplay to thank for this"

CCP did not know this would be a tactic and thus when Freighters were designed it did not make sense for them to have fittings but the times are a changing as my Dylan would say...

so...

I propose each ship gets 5 fitting points:

all 4 ships get one high slot and one rig slot

then caldari/min get 3 mid slots and 2 low slots

and gal/ amarr get 2 mid and 3 low slots

they would have 1000 base pg and 300 base cpu

yes you can survive in a current freighter if you have alts and such... but you should not have to use an alt for a ship to survive...

give the ships a fighting chance...

So when they devote their lows and rig to cargo expanders and a single t1 boost in the mids and die even easier than they do now, do you come back and cry for CCP to make the ships stronger because abloo bloo gankers?

pretty much... you guys are rather crafty in tactics and it seems that CCP needs to play catch up again...

its not that you should not be able to gank a frieghter but the guy in the ship should have a fighting chance...

if you afk auto pilot in 0.5 then you deserve to die... but if you dont and are a solo player you should be able to survive...

same thing for noobs who go for max yield in mining ships and still die...

but at the least the mining ship has options for fittings so it can not die... freighters currently do not have this option...

The lack of fitting actually works in their advantage. Combine the fact that an Obelisk will always have similar EHP as any other Obelisk, it's only a matter of looking through Obelisk killmails on Eve-Kill (or any other site) and figuring out an average of how much gankers are spending to kill you. Once you've got that, carry less than that amount isk-wise, and suddenly the bullseye on your back is miniscule by comparison.

I know, I know. It actually involves work. You'll actually have to read things and apply basic math and common sense. You MAY even have to do more than one trip (I know, right???). I know a segement of you highsec types shy away from things like "thinking" and "paying attention", but really, enough is enough. Asking devs to buff your ships because you're literally too lazy to read or add is a bit too far.

Option C

Convince CCP to spend to spend resources designed to fix Null on repairing the errors caused but such emergent game play.

Lol

Actually a joke but a fair amount of time has been used re-balancing and bug fixing due to emergent game play taken to the extreme.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

Don't use freighters for hauling low volume high price stuff.

Use slaved Damnation with T2 links for that stuff and watch Goons burn 7-10 billion just to get through your tank.

Of course they can shoot your freighter just because you have trit in your cargohold.

Actually Option C is "pay someone else that's willing to take simple precautions to haul for you", but thanks for playing anyway Frying Doom!

Ahh yes, It's so harsh out there in 0.0 with all that convenience. Those of us in hisec losing freighters can only imagine how hard things must be for you all.

You're right to spend the spare time all your luxury affords coming into hisec to gank those who lack it.

Expanded Cargoholds reduce Hull HP by 20%. Anyone smart enough to use their slots for tank is most likely already taking the precautions needed to avoid making yourself a target.

For its target audience, it will be a roundabout nerf in survivability, in other words.

Not if you use the grey matter. Fighters cannot be allowed to carry a million meters squared so because those rig and low slots can be used for cargo expanders thd freighters cargo will have to be nerfed. That means in order to get the cargo size we currently have we will have to make our freighters easyer to gank. This means that no matter how you fit them you would not be able to carru as much as we currently can. Thats a nerf.
