Here is my new vid.
Putting up a new vid as I get fights.
The fights are not amazing, but I am uploading stuff to get good at Sony Vegas.
If you want to leave comments, leave comments about effects, how the vid can be improved, youtube settings and so forth.

Well, the resolution is okay now

Few good fight, mostly not, but you warned about it. I still dont get the "dump your hangar into the ship" maelstrom fitting.

To comment the editing and effects: Remove them, they are highly disturbing apart from the intro ofc. I want to see the footage and not some grayed out or cut into pieces stuff.

Ha my corpmate is 'the bottom feeder' ... I'm curious what exactly you had a problem with? A solo brutix engaging in a threeway is pretty suicidal in my opinion, far from cowardly as you've suggested. Your mod management during that fight (as well as others) could have been substantially better aswell as heat management through quite a lot of the video.

Personally the novelty of the dual asb fits has worn off too, in their current forms (because of asb's) cyclones and maelstroms are ships you just dont engage without a huge amount of dps, and watching people have long fights against people who don't know better has been shown so so many times since kovorix's vid. I guess I'm saying a little more variety and possibly creativity in ships and set-ups would have been nice.

But, on the plus side, at least you did engage in challenging fights (although I hope the toys dont always get flung out the pram like they did against nex when things don't go your way) and the editting and music I thought was pretty decent.

Cons:

about three minutes in when your cyclone starts going into armor you edited in one of the worst, most pointless effects I've ever seen, please don't do stupid shite that that again.

The Vigilant + TFI was a fun fight to watch however it was not just the two of you vs that fleet, if you're going to make movies like this and you want them to be enjoyed I'd advice you to cease with the lazy explanations like Maelstrom vs overview and actually present the stats in an appealing and informative way.

That red text is very ahrd for me to read, I don't know if it's just me.

Your ASB management was horrible, such as pausing on 1 charge while you're in structure instead of using it and saving some valuable time for the next reload, however that kind of management comes with practice I guess.

13:20 "Claocked Rapier" wut?

Pro's:

Really exciting fights to watch (+ Music that was pretty good), you were bold and I respect that a lot, I'll be eagerly awaiting your next video.

A solo Brutix usually does not run away when he is being chased by another solo ship, LOL. A bottom feeder, is somone who just waits,in this case, yellow boxes you and waits until you hit structure and does one volley. Your friend also ran away from my solo friend who was the person asking about my cap charges in the video. But anway there is nothing wrong with being a bottom feeder, its a personal choice. Dont be so mad.

What dont you get about the mael fit. Its an anti falcon support ship. Dual xl asb, eccm and a tracking computer/sensor booster with scripts. We have flown it couple of times and it does its role pretty well.

Lol who's mad? Cool I asked a simple question, so you don't like people landing on a fight for a 3 way and shooting the most obvious primary, got it ;) you were already struggling when he landed from what I remember, he's not exactly going to help a dual xasb cyclone recover before fighting it now is he P and it's not like he just vollied you and then ran away to whore on your loss mail, he engaged what was left after you died. It was a legit 3 way (which he arrived late for) and he picked the most sensible hostile to start with. I really don't understand your problem with it. It's not like he intentionally waited to do the last bit of damage, he landed, then shot the most obvious target first, which happened to be you.

This is the problem with flying FOTM dual xasb set-ups in my opinion, the wider community has gotten used to them now and people treat them differently, it's similar to having falcon alt in a way, because they both have few/no effective counters (in small gangs alpha works, solo I think they're near enough unkillable - anything that could eventually beat you probably can't do so before you realise and deaggro and leave or have back-up arrive) people are going to treat them very differently because they're so unfavourable to engage (due to their OP design) the thing you don't seem to get in my opinion is that people adapt. If you fly something like a dual xasb cyclone, dont expect too many bc 1v1's for example or expect you to be treated like just another ship. Add on top of that your corp is known for using links and you've got a perfect recipie for being treaten with extreme caution.

Maybe it's just me but I like to be in ships that at least appear engagable and without a reputation of using links in the hope it gets me more fights, but I suspect that is something of wishful thinking Smile

Oh and fwiw neither nex or I for that matter ever do arranged 1v1's, and after the way you were smacking in local I know he was concerned you were trying to blob him.

This was suppose to be a discussion about how to better pvp vids, not you coming on here and trying to defend your bottom feeder friend.

Please don't argue :D OP specifically mentioned that he wanted feedback about his editing skills not the fights, so let's stick with it.

Your editing skill is definitely getting there, but I've seen many gaming videos were ruined by putting too much effects on them. I loved your intro(that's what makes Vegas awesome), dying effect(04:39~) was okay cus it doesn't really disturb anything. I assume only effect that people won't like is the part beginning at 03:01. As long as you stay away from that effect, I had no problem with your other editings.

thanks for the input rekina..will try to keep the effects to a min since my 2 first vids were about using some effects and seing how people liked them or not. Will keep the effects out and put some good fights in the next vid.

While you have some great editing skills, you add way too many effects.

The intro is good, so +1 for that.

The one at ~3:10 is very good. Kinda gives a RNK feel and I think it will work well with the new damage noticitation comming with Retribution (put that in the middle box). The colorless effect just before 3:00 is also great, but the eftect between those 2 was annoying.

The tunnel effect at 4:38 is pretty pointless and annoys me, so stay away from those effects unless there is a reason and it is clear to the one who watches the video.

The random colorshifting at 9:05 should be removed too.

And you should let the text stay for abit longer. It is hard to read it all.

Still, you deserve respect for experimenting.

-Music is good, maybe have some different variety of music depending on kinds of fights
-some editing effects aren't really needed and make it hard to watch (ie the one at 3:01)
-on the other hand having some edits is good, like capacitor zoom in effect on some occasions
-also slow mo works, but I would only use it occasionally, and for not too long, it lasted too long in this video

-would like to see a different variety of ships, maybe some active armour tanked ones
-your video rendering has gotten waaay better though, it was a little rough in the beginning
-also agree with the previous comment that you should list what you are fighting instead of just saying overview
-red text was also hard to read for me, mainly cause i'm a little bit red/green colourblind haha

-take note on the upcoming camera changes in retribution that allow you to follow your target on screen, might make it hard to kite with the camera following a target, but would make video cinematics very interesting

-Damage control and mod management is noticeable, and would maybe help you change the tide of the fight, particularly that fight with the arbitrator and caracal. But mod management is learnt, helps when you can rewatch what you did with these videos. managing asb's, kiting, and shooting a target is difficult
