Would you like me to forward one of the several dozen emails I have, all with a "support@eveonline.com" from address? These petition replies, subscription reminders, and payment authorization success messages all look pretty convincing, but since they aren't from @ccpgames.com then someone out there has a pretty good impersonation of CCP going.

Hint: fact-checking really should happen *before* pressing the "Post" button...

There are a LOT of pishing emails that are being circulated in an attempt to grab people's account details. We deal with these as and when they arise, however, to echo what CCP Eterne has said, if you are concerned about the security of your EVE Online account, always bear the following in mind.

• CCP will never ask you for your account name or password. We simply don't need them.
• NEVER click links provided in an email that direct you to your "Account Management Page".
• NEVER click links in an email that direct you to our forum login page.
• Always go directly to account management via your browser. NEVER rely on links embedded in emails to be secure.
• Always check the address bar of your browser to ensure that you're on an official CCP site before you enter your account details.

It's sad that we have to put out warnings like this, but unfortunately there are horrible people out there who like to take advantage of our players and abuse their hard work.

If you do receive any emails you feel may be fraudulent and trying to steal your account details, please forward them to security@ccpgames.com and they will be reviewed.
