What is a good ship to get started in Incursions

Are Command Ships worth using such as the Vulture?
I can fly and or own the following (not using Tengu unless that is quickest route into some good fleets)

Nighthawk
Basilik (Gallente Logistics also but lower skill in armor rep)
Vulture

any Caldari/Gallente BS's (minus like Blackops)
Caldari/Gallente HACs (and command ships)

My main skill is missile but I have 7 million or so in guns just don't use them often.

Well just about any sub-cap caldari/gallente ship.

I assumed maybe command or logistics would get me into a group pretty quick but not sure?

Thanks for any comments suggestions

Of those options, a Basilisk will likely get you into fleets the quickest. Good Tengus can usually find a fleet fairly quickly though. And if you're running with a set up group, rather than a pick-up group, a Vulture might be in more demand, since Logis are easier to find than good CSes.

For a random group you're joining though, I would suggest a standard Basilisk fit, it's easy to use and Logis rarely have issues getting into fleets.

I use a Nighthawk myself.. Works well in vanguards..

Remember though if the FC wants DPS hes going to pick one of the 500 Macharials and Nightmares available.. So make yourself usefull, have a painter and a good web, slow the targets down so the BSs can peg them...

Caldari CS is useless other than for offgrid booster... but you don't get paid for that.

Basilisk or Tengu. If you want CS, train Slipneir.

That, or go armor.

Thanks for the info, I was sort of wondering about CSs since they are off grid mostly. The Nighthawk sounds viable and Logistics maybe I will position both for getting into incursion to see if I want to take it up. Both are cheap enough not to be too painful if I screw it up. Big smile

Being a "box ticker" helps a lot. This is a multi-tasker.

I have my alt bring an orca with my other ships while I bring my BS.

Inside the orca I've got a T3 and a logi.

I also have my alt running boosts in wing command (but not on grid) currently skilling up and using a T3 for the mad boosting bonus.

So people are very happy to have my boosts... I am a little beyond the days of hunting for fleets. But I know when I'm recruiting people to fleet, a DPS that can also logi if required and has a sweet off-grid boosting alt always gets some love.

During the twilight times, some timezone's logging off for sleep and such you can often find yourself unable to find either logistics or DPS... it's in these times that the multi-taskers really come in useful.

I fly armor and I don't want to get into the old argument of shields vs armor... you can get a starter ship for both tanking options simple enough. Most FC's should be newbie friendly. and show you the ropes, incursions don't take long to get the hang of and if you can get into a regular fleet then it makes it a lot simpler.

A lot of newbies start in Abby's, Mega's and Mael's and they work as good gateway ships to use while building up confidence and finding a group you trust, after that a lot upgrade to marauders and faction BS.

If you're thinking setups, you want buffer (enough to let logi's switch mods to you) resistances (70% and higher for all) The rest is bolting on as much DPS, tracking and webs that you can manage.

Hmm unfortunate my alt is a long way from command ships or not even close with Orca :)

But I see your point about different times and such.

I have no issues with Armor or Shield both are what they are. In couple days I could armor rep as well as shield. My leadership bonuses are not too bad either about 10% raw for shields.
