You could exclude all frigates from this as well as Tier 1 of every tech one ship in the game. Sec penalty immunity could be put in where it wasn't needed.

- Modifiers can be added for active faction war characters.
- Missions can give modifiers based on difficult missions.
- War Dec can give Modifiers.

- Sec can give modifiers
- Criminal activity and negative sec can give modifiers in the other direction.

It gives you the power to enforce ship role in EVE.

Legitimate criticism welcome.

Gank beats Tank. It's why EVE is a zerg machine with FotM dps fleets.
Bonus systems based on Sec and even further, Null sec regions would create diversity in the EVE Universe. A Maelstrom blob couldn't face roll half the Universe.

Tanks have had many boosts, so ganking has indeed been made harder.

There is already diversity within Eve, how does does nerfing things make it more diverse?

Feel free to provide working examples in the game. I don't see them.

The original suggestion can't really be called a nerf either. Buffs would be given where applicable.

If a mechanic reduces my damage to 50% of the original, then what else is that but a nerf?

So you're trying to sell this, as an idea for that objective? I find that stance rather disingenuous, but if that's your stance so be it.

I think you'll find this is a public forum for the players of Eve online. It is specifically here for ideas to be given and agreed, or disagreed with.
I'm sorry my disagreeing with your idea is seemingly unpleasant for you, but that's how it is.

If you wish to boost null sec, then don't nerf high sec.

There has even been an article written, that covers this very approach and you've been involved in the thread. I'm guessing you've disagreed with it's premise?

Well the idea doesn't fit the sandbox concept, seem god awful and needlesly complicated, with no real justification presented for doing it, so it can be dismissed just as easily.

I would concider that meta-balancing... nope, sorry, not working. It would be against the base principals of the sandbox.
