You're not far off.. but it's a test server, where we test things, not play "Eve arcade mode".

If you find a bug feel free to write a bug report :).



Typical (lets get all defensive) developer response, did you forget to do your own unit testing then? or do those software development key priniciples not apply at ccp then? no wonder tranquility is full of bugs if you cant even get the crappy test server right...

a qa test server should never be of this terrible quality ever, keep your dev/integration environments to yourselves before asking people to do functionality testing, which we cant do as the basic functions of eve dont even work...

tell me how the hell did the shield damage function stop working? how can someone test pvp wise when you cant even see what shield damage you have? is there no such thing as regression testing?
dont expect us the players to test, when you cant be bothered to test your own work first. That build should of never made its way onto sisi at all.

yes. dont even think about taking this live before reading the bug reports/forums.i think you owe it to the mass test guys to provide an environment where they can actually try out new ships.

AFAIK the whole point of a test server is to test things and get them ironed out prior to release, it works as a system, and since I've started playing only a few major bugs seem to have gotten through, the one which springs to mind was the broken corp recruitment system, but since you don't get massive corp recruitment going on on the test server that is pretty much why it didn't get noticed.
The whole point is that we submit bug reports, the dev team look at these bugs, so even if you think its something thats been seen before, if it isn't fixed yet submit a report, your report may be the final bit of info they need to fix the problem.

TLDR: don't complain that sisi isn't perfect when they release a new build, its not meant to be, and the more bugs that are found on sisi means that when the finished build gets put on TQ its not a complete roaring-goat-****

in another mmo i play (no not that big one) we also have a test server. one update, the live code suddenly went to hell in a handbasket even after stress testing it on the test server. my point is you could have a very stable and bug free build in one test enviroment, ie internal dev server, then when you push that code to another enviroment all manner of issues pop up. it happens with all software and probably has something to do with the difference in hardware and drivers from one enviroment to the next or something.

if you dont like it being buggy, you might want to format your hard drive, otherwise your os might get an update that causes bugs preventign you from doing anything with it

I think you seem to be missing a the point here, of course there are bugs, stupid. But But when the fundamentals dont work and there are severe regression issues (look it up if you dont know what it means) then this build should not of even made it onto sisi, this is a dev/integration build not a qa build (if you dont know what the difference is go look it up too). When releasing something to a QA testing build then there should be some quality at least. Yes regression issues happen, but not has bad as this. This is why TQ has some many bugs, because clearly the testing process is poor.

I cant comment anymore on this subject, as clearly i am dealing with numpties, and its too much hard work to explain the clear fundamentals of testing and quality.

This is a very early build so bear with us, there are a few issues we already know about and are working on:

Client thinks it can’t connect to server, displays ‘Unable to connect’ message
User Pain: Extreme
Workaround: Log in anyway.

Unable to scroll down in the EULA screen - no text shown
User Pain: Extreme
Workaround: Change the languageID in prefs.ini for the Sisi client to EN. Prefs.ini can be found in the appropriate settings folder for this client, more info is available here.

Ship hangar (as opposed to captains quarters) does not load up when docking straight into it
User Pain: High
Workaround: Go to the CQ first and then to the ship hangar.

The captains quarters environments are not loading on docking into a new station
User Pain: High
Workaround: Close client and log in again, in the next session the CQ environment should load as expected, if it doesn’t see next item below.

Certain environments are failing to load resulting in a black screen
User Pain: High
Workaround: There is no clear workaround at this time, in fact we are no longer able to reproduce this issue but if any of you do please file bug reports.

The Amarr Captain Quarters walkway entrance has missing collision on the stairs causing players to fall through the world
User Pain: High
Workaround: Wear shades like a boss, and don’t walk around the Amarr CQ.

Station services are not loading up when starting client in ship spinning
User Pain: Moderate
Workaround: Undock, dock again.

Intro video doesn’t play properly
User Pain: Moderate
Workaround: Skip the video by hitting any key, audio may continue playing anyway.

The Corporation and PI screen in the Gallente CQ are non-functional
User Pain: Low
Workaround: No workaround.

Unable to leave ship in hangar view
User Pain: Low
Workaround: No workaround, note that you can switch ships you just can't be in a pod.

Well you can all stop stamping your feet, stroking your epeen and put your teddies back in your prams, its all gone and we are back to a standard TQ with a few fixes.

Looks like it’s a full reset including the mirror back to before the new hanger and CQ stuff was tested, happy now.

Oh and if your on a slow connection download the 292761 to 300737 patch it's only 19Mb and update a new copy of your TQ files, the launcher wanted to download nearly 700 Mb to update my copy of the SiSi client.
