Look at some of the challenges facing wormhole living one of the large ones is protecting against theft from the SMA and CHA. In our case we use a two tiered approach where everybody but trial members is giving access to the corp use tab where miscellaneous mods are and then directors and officers move stuff around as needed. We have two SMAs one where cheap ships go and the other where shiny stuff is put and then launched as needed. Does anybody else out there have a different approach to things ? And if so what is it

Tier 1: All Corp access
Tier 2: Starbase Fuel access (trusted members)
Tier 3: Starbase Operator? access (Directors) (I forget the name of the role)

Trusted members have access to the primary corp hangar and their personal hangars to distribute mods and ammo to other members. All corp access is one general use ship maintenance array and the "newbie" tower where I split one corp hangar into 7 tab access points.

The best defense is honestly good screening of members. If they're in a hurry to join, or want a lot of roles right away, that's a red flag. Then keep them at basic roles for a month or two so they only have access to other newbie's stuff, which will naturally be less bloated.

If they're under a year old or have been a ton of corps with durations under a couple weeks, that's usually a red flag as well.

The answer.. Multiple POSs...

Large Communal POS with Director access...
Small POS for newbies
Medium POS for 4-5 trusted members..

Add more Medium POSs for more trusteds when they need be available...

Ah, but the kicker! Each member has access to ONE private tab in the CHA...

Ah, but how do each of the different POSs secure their stuff you may ask. Each POS has a Janitor pilot associated with it. They are roled up with Fuel Tech, and are in charge of fuelling the POS.. they are also granted Config for a few minutes to set a Password that their members will know. A la! Secured POS layouts!

So in this way, modules are completely safe. Oh, and a rule about new recruits not having orcas in the wormhole until we trust them to promote..:D

It costs, but with the right PI, the fuel can be made at discount price...:D

I like the idea of the second pos for newbs though a small Shocked seems like it would attract undue attention... but maybe thats the point lol

Well... the problem is, using any other tower is twice the cost. All it needs is a CHA and a SMA, and a few guns.. Not much more really...

Right, I forgot to mention that. You can set forcefield passwords to easily differentiate people's personal towers. Makes it a little bit of a hassle getting in and out of towers though.

Don't trust anyone ever :P (we had a guy who'd been with us awhile and known outside of the game even longer go pikey on us one day when temptation got the better of him and he tried to steal everything that wasn't nailed down).

As a rule don't get in the habit of leaving anything of value in CHAs ever, other than temporarily for logistics purposes.

Ideally don't bring any ships in you'd be worried about losing but someone stealing them rather than the ship dying in a fire with you at the helm is a bit of a different story so an orca or carrier holding alt is another option for security there.

Honestly, best way to prevent is is to be friends with everybody in the corp. Don't take random eve people in. In my corp people gotta vouch for you to get in.
