If any of the hobos who are pro-tieracide today... start crying about ship failness tomorrow.... I will laugh at you.

Hard.

Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk!

WTF are you on? Thier fittings are different b/c guns have different PG uses and shield extenders use less PG than plates... who uses plates anymore?

Their DPS is strikingly similar and with the changes to ewar, and the proposed changes to TDs they all have the awful advantage of stale ewar.

Their ranges have all been flushed out and made craptastically the same with the exception of blasters... which have closed the gap.

And now basically every ship in game gets drone bays b/c that's balance?

The one last bastion of hope was slot layouts...and that's gone.

Maybe you should get a ******* clue.

See here's the deal mate, I've been playing since 2007, and frankly, I pay attention to this game, and fittings. The thing is that in the cruiser bracket there were only half a dozen cruisers (including faction ones) that were worth anything.

As for ranges, this is absolutely not true. HAMS have an enagement envelope of 18 KM or so, while medium AC's of the 425 variety hit out to 30 KM when properly outfitted. This is a difference of only 10-12 KM, but that is a BIG DEAL in eve, when you've got even the remotest shred of skill, and know what the hell you're doing in PVP. The ship roles make each ship so radically different than the others that while they all preform "relatively the same" they all have a vastly different feel and mode of combat. This is the POINT of teiricide. And it is a point real pvp pilots have been trying to make since the game began. There was no reason to fly the celestis as long as EAFs or thoraxes were around. There was no reason to fly the Moa while the Thorax or Rupture still lived. This isn't because of meta gaming, this was because the ship literally was **** compared to other ships which were better designed to fill the roles, and do it. This was precicely because slot layouts and bonuses worked in 'teirs', where each tier higher gained either an extra bonus or an extra slot, forcing some ships to out perform others by default. This is why the Talos is the new brutix, and the Tornado is the new hurricane, because these ships VASTLY out perform their teir 1 and 2 brethren.

While you're screaming for variety, everyone else is screaming for ballence because the PVP of eve is rapidly turning into a game of Hurricane, Drake, Tornado. Now if that means that there will be a couple of ships that are "drake like" That's absolutely fine with me because at least it will be more creative than 'bring more drakes than the other guy' style of combat.

I was somewhere insisting to post something like this, specifically for the Combat Cruisers. Had the intention of demanding actually less medslots (minus the Moa, which is a real Shield-ship) for the Combat Cruisers; so that they can't just do everything. For instance, giving Rupture only 2 medslots and therefore bit more EHP or whatever; similarly for other Combat Cruisers.

I did not post it since somewhere, it would just lead us back to "I WANT MORE MEDSLOTS BECAUSE..." demands.

But in the end, the tiericide is going the right way. The overall gameplay doesn't really support the "unbalanced" ship setup. It is cool, but it is indeed hard to keep it fair. Perosnally, I'd want these irregularities than mirror ships, but it's hell.

4 medslots unfortunately give ships the versatility many people want - especially since "Versatility" is T1's aspect.

Using tablet, typoes are common and I'm not going to fix them all.
