With the lack of Econ DEV blogs for the past6+ months, no CCP Diagoras tweeting stats, nor a QEN all the small folks in Eve are pretty much reduced to relying on soothsaying with Turkey entrails to predict Eve's economy Straight
On that note hoppy Thnxgiving week every1 Big smile

I find it ... entertraining to see people considering themselves traders but who dismiss the very concept of reading prices.
It's like shop keepers refusing to know when to buy their stock or doctors refusing to visit their patients because it also involves looking at them, at X-Rays and similar.

Markets cannot be predicted but may be ridden.

It's something to bet on an item to make a quick profit like "oh that item has reached his support price let's buy this one" and to predict how the economy will evolve.

Is there inflation ? Does stockpile exist for that mineral ? How much isk is created every month ?

I would like to see a precise answer to these questions but you cannot deduce it from graphs, like you cannot predict the economy from looking at a stock exchange.

I know that, and I know CCP are intentionally hiding the data so that people cannot "predict the economy".
That's intentional and good, we have far too powerful players and entities to give them official data to exploit at their advantage.

Uh no. You believe CCP is intentionally hiding the data because you believe that the willingness to pore over such data gives certain players and entities (Oops) an unfair advantage, even if said data is publicly available. All you know is that Diagoras went quiet. The reason is that he apparently went back to school. Whether he's been replaced, and if so, why his replacement hasn't communicated the way he did, is not known.

I mean, unless you read a chart or something that told you otherwise.

Something like: "they also stopped delivering QENs and that's *possibly* not just because CCP Diagoras went back to school?"

Oh that's easy. "We felt that the resources of Doc E and the assistance necessary to collect and put together the QENs was better spent elsewhere." In fact I could swear I heard them actually say that recently. In any case, you're still speculating.
