The Micro Jump Drive is a new propulsion module that allows a ship to teleport forward 100km. This module can be used in bubbles or while disrupted but not while warp scrambled, basically following the same rules as the existing Microwarpdrive. The MJD also has a spool up time and cooldown that must be waited between uses.

copy/paste from Devblog. Did they just make it really difficult to kill anything, or is it just me?

It's a battleship only module, you have 10 seconds of spool up to get a scram on it or kill it.

Oh, it also has a +1 warp core stabilization built in, so bring more scrams.

It'll make battleships harder to pin down if you're not prepared.

I think it will only be good for for transporting your BS through nullsec. Mission runners won't waste a precious slot to fit one and PvPers won't need one because they will have support from their gang. It's a good way to prevent the loss of an expensive ship going through a gate though.

Another use I thought of is for missioners who like long range weapons. Mission gate drops you into the middle of the enemy, you microjump away and pound on them with artillery from afar. Removes the 'necessity' of using/switching to autos.

Worth a medium slot where you would have probably fit a regular prop mod.

Interesting ideas. Perhaps it will get more use than I thought.

Depends on the fit requirements of the MJD, I'd imagine. I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Or lets those blasterthrons close the distance without having to take lots of long-range fire.

I doubt anybody is going to like seeing a bunch of Gallente blasterboats suddenly appear at pointblank range.

And if the Youtube vids are correct, you get to keep your target lock after you make the jump......

More BSs in low and null? Yes please!

I am liking the idea of Blaster BSs having more of a chance in PVP. Don't like it? ADAPT!

I was thinking about full rack of smarts ... Stabs in lows ... and Boom boom boom , micro zoooom and wave at the survivors.

This module honestly sounds awesome, personally id be more willing to take a BS to low because of this mod.

This will make BS's have an advantage over T3's in certain situations. It's not secret that they lack mobility - and BS's with speed just don't make sense.

It would be nice to be able to define a micro-jump distance in order to eliminate people simply adapting and sitting 50-70KM away.

It will also allow BS's to gate camp and 'leap' into combat range without over-commiting and being hot-dropped in a bubble. It's all to common right now for people to just UNLEASH THE KRAKEN whenever you have anything larger than a cruiser on grid.

Still think it needs scripts to change distance wanted, when those fleets start catching on, assuming they do, fcs will just change the preferred sitting distance from a target letting those fleets undershoot or overshoot.

Then again maybe that would be op, but I've never seen a huge blaster fleet so I can't comment on what would happen. I merely know that putting anything with blasters at point blank ******* hurts, but I don't see them catching minmatar ships/fleets regardless of a script or not, or matching properly to an amarr doctrine.

Come on ccp, don't go halfway with gallente! I want to see blaster fleets!

I think the reason they don't allow changing distance at will is this potentially will already put blasters BS's from last place to OP'd if not very careful. Boats with range / snipers will suddenly be borderline obsolete due to this (unless they have one also I guess, and Warp the same time the Blaster boat does, switching places, which admittedly could be funny as hell).

The idea of a smart bomb MJD boat just screams OP, (omfg the fun tears though!), and they should look at it carefully.

Great concept, but I am praying it does not wind up like another ASB, throwing things the other way on balance. ;)

So it's basically the best way to get Ogre II's into range right?
