Is it entirely possible for Alts (alternate characters) to exist in EvE lore?

considering all our technology and resources, you think alts can exist were eve real?

Are you aking if a capsuleer can switch into a completely different body while remaining the same person mentally?

While not a conventional capsuleer, there is someone like that in the Lore. The Broker does exactly that. The lore also alludes to him controlling multiple "ALTS" at the same time aka...multiboxing.Shocked

I know people in the past (from being a roleplayer as an EVE Player since release) that have roleplayed their alts as different identities, so long as they weren't logged in at the same time for immersion reasons.

Theoretically, there's nothing to stop any capsuleer from jumping into a clone that looks and speaks completely differently from their original self, I suppose.

Something that would be pretty awesome to flesh out some more in backstory I suppose Big smile

Aside from the psychological mind screw that would come from that.

The Broker doesn't have any time for these "psychological mind screws" you speak of.

I don't think this is completely possible as of yet (or at least not easily achievable), otherwise all male characters would be in female bodies by now.

I don't feel as if it would freak me out at all. It'd be a hell of an experience...

Somebody in this thread had an interesting idea: A group of alts is a coalition of people who merged their neural maps, to become one entity. One mind, one set of interests and goals, two or three bodies to achieve them. His full explanation of the idea in the thread is better than my brief one here.

Don't lie your just thinking of your female clones....

All automated intel should be removed from the game including Instant local/jumps/kills/cynos for all systems/regions.Eve should report nothing like this to the client/3rd party software.Intel should not be force fed to players. Player skill and iniative should be the sources of intel.

As a high sec Carebear Scientist I have created an Alt Clone for the purpose of PVP.

I Have a Special Pod I sit in in my Lab, that transfers my consciousness to my PVP Clone, which is connected up to the regular Medical Clone System.

There is one very good example of the "Alt" in EVE lore; The mysterious "Broker", who features heavily in the EVE novel The Empyrean Age. For those who haven't yet read the book I won't post any spoilers (you should definitely go read it though) and for those who have read it, you know what I mean. Big smile

Withoutn going into details, I do not agree. The broker was a seperate thing all together, not without consequences I might add. For my it iis simply, my 2nd account has the sisters of my main account on it. So Raelin is Kraiklyns little sister. My other character on my main account is technically a complete different storyline for me, but she is acquinted with my main.

Anyway depending on how much time ive got to spare ill finish he writing and be posting some shortstories of my main and his terrible incompetence on the battlefield, and 'heroic' actions in the war against slavery.

The description of the neural mapping method would mean that the maps between two clones with different brains are not surjective. That is, the data would be corrupted if you were not transferred into your own brain. I guess one could engineer a clone with a different outer body and the same brain structure though...

Personally, as a person with alts, i consider my main and my alt to be friends to be entirely honest, due to the fact that i dont act anything like my alt as i do on my main, and thus, making seem like completely different personalities. and i dont do it purposely either, it just... happens. So, no i do not consider them connected with some weird neuro pseudoscience (though this game is full of it :D)
