Better late than never on the welcome post. I have been playing EVE now for almost three years, by no means a bitter vet yet, and I will tell you this; after the initial learning curve (scouring the forums for how-to's and information) I have never looked back and continue to look forward to each new expansion as an opportunity to try new stuff. Especially looking forward to the next one with its promising new ships that have potential to bring back small gang PVP.

So do not be afraid to try stuff and look to the player base for answers and help both in game and out.
