Can anyone explain why these are so expensive (Around 13M/unit @ Dodixie)? Is it just a low drop rate, or am I missing something?

Because of Tengu.

Flavour of the month pve fit coupled with the inpatience to skill up for T2 heavy launchers = strong demand.

Yeah I was thinking Drakes too, but a lot of meta 4 guns/launchers are WELL under 13M. Look at even BS sized meta 4's, and they are an order of magnitude less in price.

yes, but there's many more people flying Drakes.. it's one of the most flown ships out there, it's cheap, has good/easy to manage tank( turn on hardners, done ) and firing missiles all day makes shooting rats also very easy. As such, before any 'serious' ships are used for missions etc, this is the ship that is used, and like mentioned it can sport 7 launchers.

Does railgun ammunition come in Hollow Point?

Yeah, this was the case long before the Tengu was introduced.

Caldari is a very common choice for new chars, and the best for people planning to PVE, and it's quite common for them to be in a BC not long after that but without the skills needed for T2. Huge demand from all of them = Very high price.

Oh very well Drakes as well then :o)

I suppose I could try to angle the argument that Drakes have always been around and thus their demand has been ever present but what is new(ish) and adding to that strong baseline is HML tengus.

But the truth of the matter is that I forgot all about Drakes :o)
