Production in null - worthwile?

hm... what about using POS for production? Something like mine -> compress ore with rorqual -> refine in outpost (in same system ideally) -> ship to POS in that system -> produce; setting large pos with a lot of production slots shouldn't be problem. Assuming entire operation takes place deep in alliance space, it should be pretty safe.
Note: keep in mind I am noob industrial (this type of setup works quite well in highsec pos) :)
