Can you claim sov in a wormhole?

I just turned into an egg, did I level up? I spent an hour trying to salvage a wreck, when in local a guy said "Stop it, this is my Tempest, I was AFK"

No you cannot claim sovereignty in a wormhole.

There's an in-game channel called "Help" that's more suited to answering simple questions like this than a thread on the forums.

Have you ever tried to use the in game help channel?! I have and I hope to never again. There's so many people asking questions, you usually miss the answer or it never gets answered. This is much quiocker, and is a general question, Hence I asked in general discussion.

Just pretend you have sov. It's not like it matters in a WH.

It worked didn't it? Prior to your non-help response he got his answer. Lol

I too enjoy putting large objects through holes.

It did work, but that's not really the point.

Honest question, can't you just build them there?

No, you need sovereignty to construct supercaps.

I wanted a station in there. Oh, and about the post about ratting with capitals, I don't fly s.cap

A POS (or more than 1) can be put into a wormhole.

What you may be referring to is an Outpost. which functions like a station but is player built (though they are 'permanent' once built - unlike a POS which can be destroyed.).

The former can be setup in all types of space (restricted to 0.7 on down in highsec). The latter, as that article states, requires Sovereignty (SOV) to set one up.

Rookie Help is overflowing with questions and sometimes helpful responses. As far as I know, the Help channel is much less used, but that may have changed.

You can build a POS, and that may be really cool when the POS restructuring gets done, but no Stations, which are super expensive anyway.

Odd thing about Wormholes is that Interbus has the Planetary stuff in them, when there should have been nothing orbiting the planets unless players put it there.

No Sov, but you can build Caps at a POS. Dreads too. A single Dread is enough to take the majority of mass off the largest Wormhole. Wormholes in C1-C3 iirc can't be used to move a Cap ship through, so if you build one in them, it is likely a permanent fixture until it is destroyed. You'd have to confirm this as it has been quite some time since I've been in one.

I'm pretty sure Sleepers in a C6, possibly even a C5, could easily destroy a Supercap.

There is no Local unless someone sends a message, and it does not know if they are still there or gone when they do. I rather like this, but it can lead to endless hours of listening and watching for ships on dscan. You can miss a ship entering between 2 second cycles of a dscan when it cloaks.

Most ships cloak if they are traveling.

You cannot check the next system for potential hostiles unless you know it's Sig having already passed through. The only way to do so, is to use a Web app that tells you the number of jumps into that system in the past time period. I believe the site is Static Mapper iirc. It's useful for a number of other things involving wormholes too.

I think Dotlan even covers some or all of this now too, but I'm not sure.

Probing skills are a must, and getting good at them equally important. A certain amount of intuition helps too.

Always Bookmark your Wormholes exits and entries, and clear them when they are no longer accessible. Share with your Corp.

Never assume you are safe.
